Part 59: Day 297: Contact

Music: Sacred Moon

Here's evidence that Saix has never been to Castle Oblivion. He doesn't know that allies are very random and unreliable in there.

Finally! A new world!

Today's panel won't matter since we're going to be playing with cards instead. Nope, it's because today's mission is a pushover.

I wish this is true

Having this kind of choice instead of the usual mission select screen is very suspicious...

Music: Strange Whispers

Yeah, Axel. I don't care if Roxas needs to be handicapped for this mission, but at least let us experience a new world!

Not shown: pictures. Or maybe that's just too much pictures overlapping together.

C'mon, game! You teased us with Destiny Island already. Now you're also going to do that with Castle Oblivion, too? Fuck you!

Music: Lazy Afternoons

There's no portrait for this dialog, but there's voice acting which makes it obvious who's speaking. Also, if you're paying attention to the music links, you'll know where Axel brought us.

Sadly, Neverland was our last new world.

Music stops

*Axel notices the person*

*Roxas runs to the portal, unlike Sora, Donald and Goofy who never run until it's too late*

*However,

Music: Tension Rising

So instead of exploring Castle Oblivion, we get to revisit Twilight Town instead. It's a big downgrade.

Thundaga to the Rare Vendor do wonders to soothe the pain the game inflicted, at least.

Magic LV4 (4) and Aeroga Recipe. I suppose good treasures also have that effect.

You guys remember Scarlet Tango? They're back

We pretty much just have to chase the impostor around this Underground Passage. The Heartless are not a threat. If you die to a shadow by this point, something is very wrong.

As you can see by the (lack of) HP bar, we're not defeating him right now.

Eventually, he'll (somehow) open this gate.

It's hard to see, but the chest and badge are next to each other. They're just separated by a gate.
Also, the chest has a Gear Component D. Because of course there's a fourth tier of Gear Components.

In the next room, there's plenty of Fire Plants. That's why I brought 11 Fires. Not that they're threatening or anything.

The impostor won't attack. You might notice a common thread between the enemies in this mission.

Eventually, he's driven into a corner.

You know, this makes this entire mission completely pointless.

The games aren't even trying to hide the impostor's identity at this point.

Music: Missing You

Twilight Station Tower: 50
Sea-Salt Ice Cream: 88

Music: Crossing the Finish Line

Now we can actually use the High Jump LV+. We can probably grab things we missed in previous missions, but I'll hold off until we finished the final mission in the game.
