Part 4: Do you, uh, Bagu?
Chapter 4: Do you, uh, Bagu?
Hey guys, my statistics test was cancelled till next week, and I got my medication! I'm a happy man! With that, we'll continue our adventure.
Before I head into that cave, I gotta make a slight detour.
Back to the North Palace? Nah.
Behind it. There's a happy little cave.
If Downstab has full health, he'll shoot little lasers out of his sword.
These things are apparently called Lowders. I thought they were irons (as in you iron clothes) as a kid.
Ocktoroks, another Zelda staple.
Our prize...
Magic goes up!
On the road again...
Back to where we were. It's not that far.
I don't like caves, but eh... whatcha gonna do?
Here's a red Goriya, apparently. I'm gonna kick his little furry ass.
Here's another one. This one has a pet.
Here's an "Ache" the red version. Very similar to the blue versions.
Only that...
This one TRANSFORMS into ACHEMAN.
I have to scale this cliff. Not fun, because I can't make the jump, unless...
I cast jump.
Sweet. I'm outta there. Let's make a pitstop in a nearby forest.
This one in particular.
Yay a faerie!
Faerie heals.
Gotta cross the swamp. I'm also being followed by monsters too. Hmm...
Kaaa...
War in the swamp. Swamps are nasty. I don't like them.
I bet none of you thought to check this forest, eh?
Entered a little battle thing. See those enemies? They're called Megmets. That's not the name I have for them. As a child, I called them "bootsies." Why? Well,
my theory is that because they jump really high, I associated them with the High-Jump Boots from Metroid (another popular game as a child for me). Then I added a cute childish touch, so therefore, you've got bootsies.
These bootsies attack in groups.
Head one block to the right...
Hmm...
Hey this is a very nice log house.
To which a man lives inside. I never understood the style of dress around here.
Don't you mean "to the river man?" Oh how I love horrid translations.
Let's play: cross the bridge!
Looks pretty easy, until...
Bago Bagos start flying after me. (Yes, they're really called that)
Another conspicuously placed tree bloc.
Another P-bag. This one is of the 100 variant.
There's also bootsies.
Sweet. A town. Which sage is it named after?
:hums Saria's Song: Wouldn't it have been more appropriate if they had named this town Ruto, being that's a water town?
This is a very fun town!
Just watch...
This is a town of travelling amateur magicians. This woman's specialty is turning into a bat. Unfortunately, I thought the trick sucked. So I killed her.
A handy glove? Midoro swamp, eh?
Downstab: your mission is to acquire the lost mirror and return it to it's rightful owner.
Hey this house looks pretty small.
There's nothing in it, unless...
Downstab just talked! So far it's the first and only time he's ever talked in a game, unless you count him in Wind waker yelling "Come On!" Which didn't really sound very clear.
Downstab and said woman are about to get jiggy with it. Unless this woman likes to do the bat trick too. Downstab is pretty kinky (he likes to wear fake ears), but flying mammal sex is simply out of the question.
Another nice house indeed.
Yatta!
Life. Good spell. For the record, each "block" of magic holds 16 points. I can only cast this spell once at the moment, and my gage has to be full. That sucks.
I don't feel like heading south. This Midoro Swamp sounds intriguing. I shall head there instead.
Ugh. Slow. Who's idea was it to put a palace in the middle of a swamp?
Here we are!
We're at Midoro palace. How will we attack and destroy this palace? And what about that elusive Handy Glove? What does it do? Find out in our next episode... Midoro Palace is a very fine palace, indeed.
See you then
