Part 7
I kind of screwed up when I gave the Iron Spear to Katz. Sure it's powerful, but at this point Katz doesn't have any Boost Attacks that can use a spear.
Anyway, here's Fort Arid. it's West of Port Marley
I hate sand, it's course and rough and irritating, and it gets everywhere.
Sort of like this character.
The locked chest contained 2 Hacking tools. Yeah, you unlock a chest to get more keys.
So now we must fight the MYSTERIOUS GIRL and her GM Command.
She really didn't stand a chance.
And now she joins our team.
Lookin' kinda derpy, there, Tremmie.
Tremmie is actually a damn good pilot. She's easily the fastest out of all of the characters we can get.
Her GM command isn't half bad either. it also comes pre-painted
I changed her equipment around, and gave her the spear since she has Boosts that can make use of it. Katz went back to the old Beam Pick.
Much like the other fort we visited, we need to clear this one out.
Now that we have more than three characters, we can now switch characters mid-battle. As you can see, I already switched Fritz out for Tremmie. Characters in the Back will heal a small amount of HP, and build up 1 EN every turn, as opposed to the 2 EN per turn for the front row. deciding on the best time to switch out is a strategy in and of itself.
As for the enemies. The Repair GM's can be a problem, and the Desert Zaku's Heat Hawk has a chance of causing Overheat.
They're no slouch in the damage department, either.
Boost Goufs can be pretty dangerous, since they can use Boosts.
it isn't shown in this picture, but Aeon managed to cause Overheat on the enemy. Overheat prevents a character from doing basically anything offensive. They can still use defensive moves and Techniques, however.
After one of them became overheated, the battle was easily won.
This battle wasn't difficult either. After destroying the Desert Zaku, the Zaku Cannons easily fell.
Found a nice arm in a treasure chest. the other chest has a hacking tool
Another fight. Much like the one with the Desert Zaku, destroy the Boost Gouf and the fight is already won.
Would be useful if I wasn't about to get a free Dom. I'm coming for you, Gavanger!
The last fight, a bunch of Desert Zakus and a repair GM.
First, kill the GM.
Second, kill the Zakus.
Outside the fort is this very, VERY handy optional part. It increases the amount of EN a character will get in the back by one.
Fritz is awesome, because he's just an asshole to everyone.
And now we need to find Eldar Sandwich which, like most towns hidden in the desert, is difficult to find.
Couple of new enemies, this guy can hit hard.
Luckily I managed to Overheat him, and the battle was swiftly won.
Light armors are fast, but fragile.
Eventually I manage to find Elder Insomnia.
One thing I want to mention about the character animations. Every character has the same animations, so when there are scenes like this, every one is walking in synch, and it's rather creepy to watch.
Everyone leaves Katz alone while they go off to do their own things. jerks.
If that guy wrecks my Dom...
Yeah, I'll get right on that.
El Dar Samnia has some very nice items lying around. But since the town is built like a maze, it's difficult to find them all.
Some hidden passages are somewhat easy to find.
Others less so.
ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod!
There's also a Black Marketeer here that will sell to us. There's really only one thing I want from him though.
Oh yes. The Guncannon will serve me well.
I would have gotten some Dom Data, but since we'll be getting
Here's the Elder's house.
Did she tell you that she's also crazy?
Yeah? Well you dress like a hooker.
Another well hidden path.
Time to visit the shops, then.
I bought three Heat Guards.
The shop also holds some of these, which are single use items that will buff a certain stat for a while during battle. Pretty useful to have, since then you don't have to rely on techniques to buff yourself.
Time for the weapon shop!
Purchase list:
3 Titanium shields
2 Double Cannon
5 Beam Gun
2 Giant Bazooka
1 Heat Saber
I would have gotten a Heat Hawk Kai, but it shares the same problem as the Tomahawk did. Large size and it needs 2 EN to use. It does have a chance at Overheating enemies, though.
Time to visit the Elder.
Everyone makes fun of you, Katz.
Thanks, Elder!
I'm still gonna take your stuff.
Total loot List:
3 Hacking tool
HP parts
10 Guncannon Data
Heat Barrier
30 Zaku II special Data
Ecap (s)
Restorative drink DX
-------------------------------
Robot Roll Call
We'll start with the ones we saw last update, since I forgot to do one for them.
MS-09 Dom
First appearance: Mobile Suit Gundam (0079)
The Dom is the undisputed king of ground-based Mobile Suits during the One Year War. it's hover jets allowed it to easily outmaneuver slower MSes and quickly destroy them, and it's heavy armor allowed it to shrug off damage that would have destroyed other MSes. A personal favorite of mine.
MS-06S Zaku II Commander Type
First Appearance: Mobile Suit Gundam (0079)
A Zaku II designed for use by commanders and aces, although really it's just a Zaku with a horn attached to it's head. Paint it red and it'll go three times faster.
RGM-79G GM Command
First appearance: Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
Essentially a more powerful version of the GM. few were made during the OYW due to it's high cost.
