MS Saga: A New Dawn

by Tobias Grant

Part 18

The tunnel isn't that far, so it won't take us long to get the-

son of a...

Well, we could use a rest.

I'm largely going to be skipping this part since it mostly focuses on Tremmie and Hal's backstory.

This place does, however, have one of the best music tracks in the game

Not even the loot to this place is very interesting, nothing but restorative items and one ECAP (S).

For those curious, a short rundown of the events that take place here:
Tremmie and Hal's backstory revealed!
Katz and Aeon decide to leave Tremmie here alone.
As they try to leave, Tremmie follows them and everyone is one big happy family again.

Thanks, bro.

We've sure come a long way.

The Underground Tunnel is one of the most boring dungeons in the game.

It's nothing but a straight line from Point A to Point B, and this place is incredibly long.

Although there is the occasional area with treasure in it.

The two chests there contained three repair units, and a Hacking Tool.

Not even the enemies here are very interesting.

Oh?

Oh hey, that's Gavenger's suit!

Oh hey, it's that guy!

Sure, why not. Welcome aboard!

Also Hal want's to cause the apocalypse again, but whatever, we have a new pilot!

Bazuli is completely awesome, and one of my favorite pilots in the game.

Now, this little area right next to where you get Bazuli is important

It's important because there is a secret room filled with locked treasure chests!

There are 6 chests in this room, and I only have enough Hacking Tools to unlock 4 of them. Which is really all I need to get the stuff I want.

total list of things you can get in this room are (listed by importance):
1. 10 Bawoo Data
2. ECAP (L)
3. Large Type Propellent (+3 to initial EN gauge)
4. Gelgoog Shield Kai (35 Armor, -1 speed)
5. Psycommu (optional part that increases mind by 10%)
6. 3 ECAP (S)

Since I have virtually unlimited ECAP (S) and (L)'s, I just get everything but those two.

Bazuli gets the Gelgoog Shield Kai for now.

Oh hey, a Guncannon II!

I wish I could get one

Another treasure alcove with an ECAP (S) and a improved Z'Gok claw for the left arm.

And so we finally reach the end.

Let's get going then!

The HQ isn't that far from the tunnel.

Oh hey it's that woman who knows Gavenger.

Thanks lady.

We also receive some shocking news!

But, I thought we were cool...

Fuck yes! Anybody who gives me a Gundam is cool in my book!

Now that we're done with the first third of the game, it's time I stop holding back on upgrades.

Also, as much as I'd like to explore the Unicorn HQ...

...We can't.

The Item store here has a shit ton of Mobile Suit data, though.

I recommend getting the Rick Dias and maybe the Gelgoog Special or Nemo. the Marasai irn't really worth it. I still end up getting all of them.

Anyway, with that done, time to head for the G System!

The G System is down in South America, so it's gonna be a bit of a walk.

And before you get any ideas, we can't just teleport over to the G-System over by Eisengrad. That would be too easy.

There are some new enemies around, although I tend to kill them before they can really do anything.

Aeon finally learned Gatling Fire, though.

The G-System is near the lake in the middle of South America.

This place is certainly unique when compared to the other G Systems.

Awesome! A Large Type wing will increase our speed by 50, and our armor by 20. the other chest had some restorative drinks.

This will increase our max HP by 200.

More of these is never a bad thing.

Ah, here we are.

Balls to that, we still have 4 more robots to make!

Katz gets the Gundam Mk. II, Tremmie gets the Gelgoog Special, Aeon gets the Nemo, and Bazuli gets the Rick Dias. The Marasai goes unloved for now.

In all honesty, Tremmie would do much better if I just kept her in the Kaempfer, but I intend to show off all the suits I can, so the Kaempfer, Gundam, Guncannon, and Gelgoog becomes spare parts.

At this point, I use up all of the upgrade kits I've been saving just for this moment.

Since I'm not using the Marasai right now, I strip it down for parts.

Guess what time it is!~

It hasn't even been ten minutes since it was created, and already I've turned it into a monster.

The Gelgoog Special has it even worse

The Nemo just gets some spiffy new shoulders and some propellent

A cool thing about the Rick Dias is that it comes with a free Large Type Wing.

STATUS UPDATE

Katz

Katz still rocking the same loadout.

Tremmie

Aeon

Tremmie and Aeon end up with the same loadout since they had the same amount of space.

Bazuli

Bazuli doesn't have Gatling Fire yet, but he does have Gatling Body. He also makes good use out of that shotgun.

Robot Roll Call

RX-178 Gundam Mark II

first appearance: Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam

The Gundam Mk. II introduced the 'Movable Frame' construction concept, where instead of using armor as a shell to encase all of the critical components, it was instead built around a skeletal frame with all of the thrusters, fuel tanks and the like mounted onto the frame, with armor applied to the places that need it.

MSA-003 Nemo

first appearance: Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam

A Mobile Suit based off of the GM II, but with a much better performance.

RMS-099 (MSA-099) Rick Dias

first appearance: Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam

A Mobile Suit commissioned by the AEUG, it was originally intended to be called the "Gundam (greek symbol for gamma)" before they changed it due to the way the suit looked.

RMS-108 Marasai

first appearance: Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam

The Marasai was a major improvement over the Hizack, and was just as easy to pilot and maintain.
