Part 44
Sorry for the delay on this, there's really no excuse for it. I did, however, finish up the main game, so the next update should be the final update as far as the main storyline is concerned.-----------------------------------
First up is Moon Base Gamma.
The layout is exactly the same as the other two Moon Bases. Fortunately, there are no random encounters here.
In fact, the only encounters here are these yellow ones, and the boss at the end.
Yep.
As you might have guessed already, we have to flip these switches to progress.
These guys gave me a bit of trouble, since they loved to spam their High Funnel attacks.
Meh. destroy the Qubeleys, and then focus on the Zeong.
Focus your attacks on one P. Zeong at a time, and you'll do fine.
This final room is a bit of a bastard.
You know those four encounters that we had just fought?
Let's fight them again!
Moving on, it's time for the boss.
Now, something extremely odd happened during this fight.
For some reason, his Beam attack completely ignored Beam field and absolutely destroyed me. I'm not sure WHY this happened, but it definitely caught me off-guard when it happened.
So whenever he's about to use a Boost attack, it's best to defend. Hit him with a System Crack as soon as you possibly can and buff your armor.
And of course, where Beam Field fails, Vargas succeeds.
The Psyco Gundam Gamma is a tough bastard, since he has a ton of HP and his attacks do a ton of damage. Just keep your guard up and you'll be fine.
Our reward is a room filled with loot!
Inside was:
High Power Propellent
High Power Claw (L)
Mega Beam Rifle
Hacking Tool
10000 credits
1 ECAP (L)
Nothing really exciting...
The Mega Beam Rifle looks promising, though.
That's enough of this place, time to go back to Earth!
Time to finish Mt. Trial!
there's an EN Max off to the side, BTW.
When we first came here, we fought enhanced versions of the Mobile Armors. On our second, we fought enhanced versions of the Four Heavenly Kings, and the Devil Gundam.
On our third and final visit, we have to fight the Gundam Wing suits.
the first thing the Altron and Sandrock will do is terrorize the party and lower our defense. Joy.
Despite what you might think, the Altron is more of an annoyance than a threat. some of his Boosts has a chance to cause Short Circuit, but he'll only ever target one person at a time.
The real threat is the Sandrock, since he loves to use Sonic Storm and Sonic Blaster, which in addition to being able to target the entire party, it also has a chance to cause Overheat thanks to his weapon.
Debuff and Destroy the Sandrock as quickly as possible. after that, the battle shouldn't take long.
Another Dragon Fang! Gonna give this to Rezner ASAP
Our second fight is up against...
These two.
You know the drill, debuff them with System Crack, and then beat them down one at a time.
Unfortunately, the Deathscythe can do the same thing to us.
Best to Focus on the Deathscythe first, since you can easily stop the Heavyarms' attacks with either a Beam Field or an Intercept Snipe. Alternatively, you can focus on the Heavyarms first instead, since he has less health than the Deathscythe.
Don't underestimate the Heavyarms, though, since he can do some damage if you let him.
Once the Deathscythe is down, the Heavyarms is easy pickings.
Fuck yes, one of the awesome Double Gatling Guns!
Obviously, I have to give it to Fritz.
And surprisingly, that was the last battle the Mt. Trial holds for us. the only thing left is to get our reward.
Inside was:
20000 credits
EN Charger
an ECAP (L)
3 ECAP (S)
And now we get our final Wing suit, the DeathScythe!
Farewell, Mt. Trial. It's been fun.
Only one place remains. the G-system in Greenland.
This should actually be the place you visit first once you gain the level 5 card key, since the prize within is extremely easy to get.
It's a straight line to the end, and there are no set encounters that we have to fight.
...wait, what? G-systems can talk?
Talking G-systems are alright with me!
Way ahead of you.
A quick teleport to Eisengrad in order to make the Deathscythe later...
Sorry Vargas, but It's time to Rezner to stretch her legs for a bit.
I give the Deathscythe to Rezner, and the Nu Gundam to Tremmie.
The Nu Gundam is absolutely fantastic.
The Deathscythe isn't as good, but it's still awesome to have.
Can't really mess with the Nu Gundam, but I did give it some optional parts.
The Deathscythes Wings are pretty awesome, but I take them off since they don't offer a EN boost, and Armor isn't really important in the late game.
There we go.
Time for a team update!
Katz
No change with Katz.
Aeon
The Wing Gundam is great for Aeon, since it's speed really buffs up her rather poor reflexes.
Fritz
No real change with Fritz other than some new guns.
Tremmie
Tremmie really needed this suit upgrade, since the Zeta was beginning to show its age.
Rezner
Rezner is basically a second Katz to me, only with a focus on spears and swords instead of on swords and axes.
Bazuli
No change with Bazuli.
