Part 37: It's close to Midnite and something evil's trolling...

It's not about whether we win or lose, but rather what ridiculous shenanigans we can get up to beforehand.
So, before we start the actual update, I want to take a few minutes to discuss what happened in the previous installment. Now, I could have done this earlier, but that would have simply been too wordy and have gotten in the way of the pacing, in my opinion. If you don't care about the previous cut-scene, then by all means skip to my next post as that has actual game content! But before all that...
A hilarious typo that can be found after you beat Flam(e)Man! I missed it before, but I was prompted to go back and check.
: >_>
So let's discuss this move. It's called Earthbreaker and it's considered Bass' "ultimate" attack. I hate it as an ultimate, because, as the GIF I posted demonstrated, he drops his Aura for this attack! This is a move he'll use at less than half HP and it completely drops the one defense he has.
You may argue that it makes him easier for noobs to fight against, but then I would simply say that if you cannot beat Bass, then, your folder is structured incorrectly. Learning how to build passable folders should be mandatory.
All right, so, this cut-scene is a bit weird. You see, as GeneralYeti said, that fight with Bass is supposed to be unwinnable. It was only through accomplishing the near impossible was I able to do this.
Using good ol' Bruce Lee to put him down was never more satisfying.
: Are you going to say that I'm the one who coined the term yet?
Okay, FINE!
No doubt that even in this cut-scene Bass remains in control. I guess the WRITER thought that Bass acting like a bad-ass even still was more fitting to the rest of the story.
The exact same lines can be found in GeneralYeti's version. Many games use the same dialogue pieces for alternate sides of the same plot point. That, or the WRITER thought doing so makes it look better.
This is SUCH a Bowne Global Solutions styled line, isn't it?
: No one noticed how accurate the background is? The SPRITER did a real good job!
: I'm surpried no one noticed the typo.
Or the grammar error. Probably because they either didn't care (the shock of the scene should have super-ceded any and all concern about it), or they think its par for the course. To be fair, it would be par for the course. These games had a lot of typos.
But, screw all this, let's actually reproduce what happened.
Well shit.
Wait, WHAT!?
What the FUCK!? Bass!? That's not your mugshot in this game! And why the HELL are you Tamako?
Ummmmmmmm.............
Sure? I expect bad things.
Wat. What has happened to my chip folder!? Several Bruce Lees and a Anubis? Well, it doesn't matter since this Bass clearly has an Aura without any damage values. That means it's invincible, right?
Well, apparently not! I just used GutsImpact and it broke. Plus, his HP took a nice chunk of damage.
Huh? You're using Earthbreaker already? What the HELL is going on? That's supposed to be after 4 minutes! It hasn't even been one!
No, no, no, this isn't adding up at all! Let's examine this further.
MID!! What have you done to my game!?
: I only did what you told me to do, man. You gave me the script for that scene.
Oh.

Tell me, how accurate did this video reflect some of your thoughts?
Last update was the one I was looking forward to the most, and yes, MissEchelon was in on it. She even foreshadowed it at the start of the scenario, so kudos.
Wow, TvTropes updated about the new cut-scene mere hours after it was posted. Looks like someone's watching the thread. Since it will likely be edited out, I saved the screenshots for posterity.
The unwinnable Bass doesn't use Earthbreaker, guys. That's reserved for a fight in the future. The four minute stipulation, Balance use, and damage to his Aura requirements was just to make it nigh impossible to "reproduce."
What was truly hilarious was this post:

People who are shocked about that scene being translated:
There's no reason to be. The script isn't done dynamically as someone plays through, it's all dumped and done as one chunk. Weirder stuff's been translated in games, probably.'

I mean, really. This just sealed the deal. Everyone was saying how unbelievable it was to have a scene like that being translated, and with that post, it just dug the hole deeper.
And now, I take my leave. To the escape pods!
And I have nothing else to add, except:
