Part 59: Broken Loose: "Internet Dog" sounds like a 4chan thing.
We're not going to talk about the last 3 years.I'm going to spend a lot of time just discussing the differences between the versions and the gameplay nuances that Epee Em overlooks. Off the bat we note that the title screen is different: We get Internet Dog instead of Internet Bird. I stand by my assertion that Internet Dog is superior for many reasons that include spoilers and thus will be detailed later.
You bet your ass it is, Lan. The second big difference between the versions is that Internet Dog Version has blue textboxes which is clearly superior to grey. Both colors are awesome, though.
Also, the artwork is slightly different in places, which is par for the course. The rug is a soccer field, Lan owns a Nintendo DS (instead of the GBA in Bird version), Django gets the motorcycle, and the poster shows a different angle of Gow.
You'll see that the menus are also colored different (just like past versions), but can you spot the major interface improvements here?
That's right, you can rename your folders! This is the current layout of the starting folder:
code:
2 Cannon A
2 Cannon B
2 Airshot *
3 Vulcan D
2 Minibomb B
2 Minibomb L
4 Sword S <--- Holy shit, really?!
2 Widesword S
1 BusterUp *
2 Crackshot *
2 Recov10 A
2 Recov10 L
1 AreaGrab S
2 Attack+10 *
1 WhiteCapsule *
Also, Mom's kitchen is a very soothing, deep shade of pink.
Outside, the Subchip merchant holds good loot. I'm gonna snatch up these Unlockers once I score some cash.
Cue tutorial battles. Note the changed graphic of the Emotion Window due to Epee Em's patch. Also note the color of the jack-in background.
The inside of RoboDogComp has a couple goodies and a psychotic program.
We get a couple emails about the new mail system (you have to go talk to a program on your homepage) and nothing new about folder editing from what we've dealt with.
We then wander the internet collecting a few random things.
Welp!
code:
2 Cannon A
2 Airshot *
5 Spreader L
5 MachGun A
2 MiniBomb L
2 CrackShot *
5 Reflector1 A
1 BusterUp *
1 WhiteCapsule *
1 CopyDamage *
4 Attack+10 *
Big gameplay change!
So, Battle Network 4 nerfed folder creation even more than it was nerfed in 2. You could only have 4 of a chip, unless they thought the chip was too good, in which case they made them into Megachips which couldn't be duplicated.
Not anymore. Now, the chip size, which was already used to determine whether or not a chip could be set to regular memory, determines how many of a chip you can hold. This is awesome, because old Megachips are now just Standard chips with an incredibly high memory cost (FullCust comes to mind). In addition to all of this, * code is back in full force, with pretty much most of the chips being available in it, including the Version 1 of every Navi Chip in the game!
