Buddy's still here, and... wait, who's that guy?





: Most people wouldn't stand up to Morcubus like that.

: Who's this Morcubus guy, anyway? What's the big deal?



: He's one of the most powerful men in the world.

: Whoops.

: I was just helping a little girl get her dog back.

: Right, you're a detective, aren't you?







: How do you know about my application to the Sim Protection Agency?

A long and uncomfortable pause.

: If I could reach back through time--without all the attendant paperwork--I would smack myself so hard.

: You're a special agent! You're with the S.P.A.!



: I'm here to open a new branch of the S.P.A. in this city.

: Really?! Well, I'm happy to help in any way I can!

: Well, that's good news, since I'm approving your application.



: W-what?! Really? I got the job?!

: Ha ha! I told you this would be our big case, pal!!



: But I want to promote you fully to special agent as soon as you're ready. The Agency needs someone who is willing to take a stand against Morcubus.

: Why? Is he stealing more dogs?

: To be honest, we're not sure what he's doing.



: They're looking for something; we just don't know what. If Morcubus wants it that badly though, it can't be good.

: Alright, sign me up. I'll do everything I can.

: I know you will, Agent Sam.

: So what should I do first?

: For now, go get some rest. Come back here tomorrow and comb the city for new cases to work. And keep your eyes open for anything that might lead back to Morcubus.

: I was actually going to be a special agent. Later on I'd find a moment to wonder about Walker's information sources, and just how he'd gotten here so fast--and who, exactly, he'd been watching--but my first coherent thought after I got over the shock was '... oh man, I got the job? I've got to get a haircut!'

And with that, folks, it's VOTING TIME!

Obviously, as Sam, we let ourselves go a little--but we can't be special agents looking like that! (Well, all right, we can, but we're not going to!) So here's the deal:

- Underneath that grown-out mop of hair and sloppy gender-neutral outfit, is Sam a Samuel or a Samantha? Male or female special agent?
Our gender changes very little about the story. The only real difference is what outfits and hairstyles we'll have available to us.

- And as long as Sam is getting a makeover, should we continue to go by 'Sam' or should we use our middle name in our new professional life? Come to think of it, what is our middle name? Choose a new name--suggestions, please, no longer than twelve letters!--or stick with 'Sam'?

I'll go with whatever the thread decides on gender, but I'm going to abuse my power as the LPer and cherry-pick the name suggestion that I like best. I'd really like the thread to tip over onto a new page before the next update, so please take a moment to vote!
