Part 10: Ep. 7: A Secret Love For Bureaucracy

: Last time on MySims Agents: I never knew there was so much secret love going on back then, pal!

Let's check out Patrick's alibi. Unfortunately, the salon doesn't have a handy fire escape in back like the pizzeria does. So how do we get up to the roof?



We leave the construction site and head for the side of this townhouse, where some crates are conveniently stacked.



Hopping up the crates gets us to the roof.



The townhouse is connected to its neighbor by this fortunately-sturdy electrical cable...



... and that townhouse is connected to its neighbor by a couple of planks thrown across like a bridge.



From there we can hop onto the AC unit and jump up to the next townhouse--



--and walk along this cable to the roof of the salon.

: It was right about then that I realized I should have just borrowed a ladder from Patrick.



: I guess Patrick's alibi checks out.

Since we're done up here, we jump off the roof, land safely on our ass, and head back to the mayor's office to look into this board of flower requisition.

: Skip, tell me about this "City Board Of Flower Requisition."



: So... you requisitioned Patrick's flowers? For the city?

: I never said any such thing! No, the CBFR has nothing to do with me.

: ... indeed.

: Is there any evidence to be found in Skip's office proving he got his hands on Patrick's bouquet?

Let's toss the place!







Skip obviously has nothing to hide and therefore feels free to go sleep in a more comfortable chair.



: Wait a second... what do we have here?

The fake bookshelf rises up to reveal...



: Alright!

Sam tries the dial.

: Aww, it's locked.

Eh, that'll never be important. Skip's still asleep. Let's sneak over while he's napping and check his computer.



: Warrant? No. Why?

: Blast! Skip's files are encrypted!

: Can Skip's computer be hacked?



Short answer: yes. Long answer: minigame!



In the hacking minigame, we use the wiimote to follow the lighted path through the maze. We can't see too far ahead: the cursor has to hit a ? mark before the next bit of path lights up. Sometimes we have to backtrack or go around, and if we ever fall off the lighted path, we get buzzed at and the time drains from our timer quickly until we manage to pick up our cursor and get back on the path.



Not as easy as repairing a gear-driven pizza stove, that's for sure. Anyway, we've broken the encryption on Skip's files! Let's compound our felony!



: Skip covered his tracks by having a bouquet in his office while also taking Patrick's. He could have left one of them at Shirley's!



Well, this looks promising. Let's cut to the chase.

: Hey Skip, what do you think of Shirley?

: Um... she's um...

: Yes?

: Um... she does a really great job with my hair!

That's all he'll say. Stymied--for now--we leave the mayor's office.
