Part 72: Ep. 49: The Boudreaux Bequest
---
: Last time on MySims Agents: Poppy's invitation to the will reading in hand, Special Agent Sam returns to HQ. But he can't stop wondering: what did Poppy's sister mean, 'bad people'?
---
First things first: Sam is tired of these hair shenanigans. If Shirley can't fix his hair, he'll do it himself. He buys two boxes of black hair dye at the market and--
No one ever tells you these things until it's too late. Still, with the help of the other box and a couple of black markers from Jenny's desk, Sam manages to get things under control.
Lookin' sharp. Sam decides to check in with everybody before we go. Also, to figure out where Buddy put that new top hat, although it's possible that the hat is too swank for this party, or indeed any party.
: Hey, Roxie, how are you?
: Sam, are you aware there are over 7 million forms of dirt found in the swamp?!
: I'll make sure I wipe my feet before I get in the jet.
: That's not good enough!
: Roxie, are you going to be OK?
Roxie sighs.
: This job is killing me...
Evelyn's over by the bookshelves.
: Hey Evelyn.
: Hey Sam, what's up with Derek stealing mail? Was he looking for something, or is he just a jerk?
Buddy is... checking under the flags by the front door.
: Hey, Buddy.
: Hiya, pal. I've been thinking... uh, I really shouldn't go to Cyrus' mansion. I already promised Roxie I'd be her test subject for the industrial nano-disinfectants she just got in.
: She's testing the disinfectants on you?
: Well she wants to make sure they're safe before she uses them on her equipment!
... we should just go.
woooooo
: So, I don't know if I'm up for this, Sam...
: ...
Buddy has a way of making a long trip even longer, but eventually we land in the bayou.
Sam and Buddy get out and look around...
... before heading up the foggy path to Cyrus Boudreaux's mansion, lost amidst the weeping willows.
We go inside. The foyer is dark and dusty, but maintains a shabby decorum.
A figure lurches towards us, one hand outstretched in greeting--
--or in an anticipatory hunger for our brains.
Scarecam!
: Yeah, I get that a lot. May I see your invitation, please?
: Of course.
Sam pulls out Poppy's invitation and hands it over. Carl opens the envelope and scans the invitation inside. Meanwhile, Buddy shakes in terror. Eventually Carl nods and puts the invitation away.
: Do you have any bags I can take?
: No, we don't.
Pause.
With a huge sigh Carl sticks his arm back on.
: The others have already arrived. Madame Zoe was just about to begin. Right this way, please.
And Carl lurches off, one arm stiffly out in front of him. Way to completely waste a potential 'walk this way' joke, EA.
As Sam and Buddy follow Carl into the room, they cannot help but overhear the conversations going on around them.
The black-haired girl by the piano sighs.
: They say the fortunite can show you your future. What exactly are you hoping to see, Trevor?
The black-haired girl sighs again.
Sam ponders these things he's overheard.
Silence falls. The group shifts uncomfortably, waiting. Finally, after one last dramatic sigh, the black-haired girl speaks up.
Someone speaks from the top of the stairs.
The camera pans up the stairs.
: Soon we will know who among us will inherit Uncle's estate. But first--
A shout rings out!
Sam presumably elbows Buddy in the ribs.
: Yes, sir, dinner is planned, but before that we should all adjourn to the crystal room. I wish to hold a reading with all of you.
: Hmm. Interesting.
: If you would please follow me to the crystal room, we may begin.
Zoe moves off down the landing, Carl in lurching tow, and lets herself into a room at the far end. Immediately:
Carl panics, rooted to the spot with fear. Nudging him aside Sam runs for the door and pushes into the crystal room.
No!
---
: Next time on MySims Agents: Omigosh, pal! The fortunite crystal is broken! Now no one gets it, not even us--but who broke it? And why? And how?
