Part 45: Big Goddamn Hero

Instead of worrying Vic with stories about space, Sam tries to cheer him up. There, there.



Speech! Speech!



Sam tries speechifyin', but it's just too much for Vic's short attention span.



Well, fine, you big baby. If Sam teaches you the basics of rocket safety, will that make you feel better?



Nope!



By this point Sam is so irritated that he stomps off to recover his cool and then tries again. First, he cheers Vic up. Then, when Vic is properly receptive:





Sam pulls out his medieval cellphone--seriously, look at that thing, it has a keypad--and sends Vic a short-but-pithy inspirational text message.



There. Much better.



Let's cheer him on!



Woo! Go, hero!



Sam goes DO IT and Vic goes HELLS YEAH and we have succeeded!



Awesome. Vic heads into the diner--let's go tell Alexa the good news.



Sure hope that chemical reaction can be interrupted safely.

Televisions are made from emotions and magic. You heard it here first.



TOBOR also gives us a Scroll for some metal stuff. We'll have to do some mining to complete that one, but Sam's been collecting emotions all along, so he completes the TV Scroll automagically.

: Hey, Sam! Did you finish a Scroll?



: Nice work, Sam. Now we can make televisions!

Sam gets everything he needs for a fifties-style diner interior: wall-mounted Work Lamps, red Diner Counters in Round and Square, a Garbage Can, Canned Goodness--random canned foods to display on said counters--Salt 'N Pepper, a Diner Stool, a C.L.O.C.K., and some Ham Paint. It's like the universe wants me to horrify Renee.
