Part 39: Soundtrack Discussion 2
Time to wrap up the rest of the notable tracks in Chapter 1. Once again, if Ive overlooked your favorite track, let me know and Ill add it to the list!
As before, all tracks are Polsy-fied from YouTube to avoid potential spoilers in the related videos.
Kamiki Village in Bloom This music is quite different from the music that normally plays in the village. It has a festive, hopeful feel, a good fit for the revival of the sacred tree, and of Kamiki Village itself.
Mr. Oranges Theme Heres a silly one representing Old Man Orange. Its bouncy and fun. You can just picture that orange on his head as you listen to it. Boing boing.
Mr. Oranges Dance Just a quick, silly little tune. The dance itself is even sillier.Link
The Konohana Shuffle A majestic tune, and hopeful, as Mr. Orange pins all his hopes on the revival of Konohana and a rebirth of Kamiki Village.
True SakuyaThe music for Sakuyas transformation.
Brush God Theme This is the track that plays when Amaterasu meets a new Brush God. Its just so darn celestial! Really well done.
Madame Fawn Sounds voodoo-y, doesnt it? A mysterious and mystical tune for the mysterious mystic, Madame Fawn.
The Sound of a Flute- Wakas Theme A graceful and elegant tune, fitting for Waka and his suave French-ness
Wakas Dance Wakas boss battle music. This is really a fantastic track and well worth a listen. It really gets you pumped for battle.
Agata Forest A calm, peaceful tune, with a slight air of mystery. Relaxing listening as you explore the ancient forest.
Tsuta Ruins Mysterious and slightly ominous. This track sets a tense, suspenseful mood as you delve into your very first dungeon.
A Shadow Lies in Wait Background music that plays in the boss chamber. Sinister and ominous. Gives a strong hint that theres a boss fight coming up, and mentally prepares you for it!
Spider Queens Appearance Theme song of sorts for the Spider Queen. Scary and intimidating, suits her well. Amaterasu still gives no fuck!
Boss Battle: Spider Queen More good mood music! This one really fires you up to kick some giant spider butt.
Victory Fanfare nuff said. The only thing that really annoys me about this game is Clovers use of a stock sound for Ammys victory howl. Its just lazy. There are plenty of good wolf sounds they could have used. I mean come on. They picked the oldest, most cliché stock wolf howl there is! Its painfully obvious that its stock. It sticks out like a sore thumb in a game that pays so much attention to the rest of the little details.
Waterfall Danger! Panic! Raging rapids! If this tune doesnt convey a sense of urgency, I dont know what will!
Kokaris Theme A fun little tune representing Kokari and his maturation from boy to man.
Fish with me! I really love this track (and the fishing game). Its lighthearted and fun, perfect for kicking back and taking a fishing break.
And that will do it for this chapter. Onwards to Chapter 2!
