Introduction
Penumbra: Overture is a mix of survival horror and first-person adventure. The developers focussed on making physics an integral part of the game, and it shows. The puzzles feel very natural, and all of them can be solved if you step back and thing about what would happen. Of course the game environment is so creepy and disturbing that it's nearly impossible to collect your thoughts because oh god something is going to eat me. This game is one of the best horror games I've ever played.

The Story
We will be Philip, a 30-year-old physicist. His mother dies, and he receives a note from his supposedly dead father that leads him to Greenland, where he gets lost in the snow. Fortunately, he doesn't freeze to death and finds a hatch leading to an old mine. As he enters, the entrance collapses, and he keeps moving deeper into the mine, and discovers why this whole thing was not a good idea.
I'll be making subtitled videos because the sounds in this game are too good to talk over. There are 20 "notes" in the game that provide backstory and interesting facts. I'll be screenshotting them and posting them separately to keep the videos a bit shorter. Please let me know if I miss something or you want me to do something.

To the Shelter
Black Plague continues where Overture left off, and things get weirder and weirder. Weapons are gone, so it's either sneak or run when you come across enemies. Fortunately, there isn't such an emphasis on stealth this time around, so you can concentrate on all the weird stuff that's happening to Philip. Frictional Games learned from Overture, and it definitely shows.
