Robin Hood

Part 12

Part 12

When last we left Robin Hood... uhh... what was it...?

Oh yeah. Thanks Azeem.

So, apparently Duncan somehow split himself into two, since he remained in our party while also running from the Sheriff's men to warn us that said Sheriff intends to forcefully marry Marian.

Now, normally at this point Duncan dies without any further fanfare. He doesn't rejoin us, nor does the game talk about him. It's down to Robin, Azeem, Little John, and Friar Tuck.

For some reason, though, for this fight Duncan's continued presence makes a double of everybody in the party. I don't know whether it's a genuine numbers glitch or if the clones are supposed to be generic merry men, but either way the only way to tell Robin and Azeem apart from their twins are the fact that they use bows.

You manage to defeat some of the Celts... but more can be seen rushing forward...

- We hafta go, Robin. They've done us in. We gotta hide and regroup after they're gone. Then we'll figger our next move.

(I don't remember Little John being such a crybaby in the movie. Why's he always telling us to run away from things? )

- Our dead cry out for revenge! The Sheriff must pay for this.

- The buggers set fire to the trees! They're tryin' to roast us alive!

- We will retreat, for now.

(Insta-teleport)

- How did we do?

- Most of us made it out safely, but they took a few of us prisoner.

- We must return to our camp, and plan our next action

So yeah, new section of Sherwood Forest. Guards are everywhere, so it's a bit more dangerous than usual. Right next to where we start, however, is this sleeping fellow and his hut.

Naturally, we'll be looting it. Make sure to pick up the telephone disguise on the upper right corner. It will be useful soon.

- Zzzz...

- Wake up!

Neither answer matters.

- Yes

- No

Whatever, Will #36.

Since the ball n' chain gets boring after a while, I switch things up a bit with the Buster Locksley Sword. Note that it can also deflect arrows if you time it correctly.

For some reason certain guards in this forest took three hits with the Locksley Sword. Since arrows are still instant death, I'm not sure why.

I also forgot a new weapon in the previous update, the Crossbow. It's like the bow, but its arrows fly faster. Neat. Kind of looks like a stick, though, which probably explains how I missed it.

No! My beloved peasant village!

If Will's been standing there this entire time, he's got steel cajones.

- I've been told that the Sheriff's going to hang ten of our men at noon today, unless you surrender.

- Now is the time for a final battle! To free our friends and get rid of the Sheriff!

(Now you're talkin', Azeem! )

- We ain't doin' nobody no good here, let's just get this over with.

(Pansy.)

Since there's nothing left for us at camp, it's time to go fight the Sheriff!

In the middle of the woods we find another saddle... you know what this means, right?

Yup.

(Yes, Duncan is still in my party. I even gave him an upgrade from the dual meat wielding.)

I'm not sure what's so frantic about our saddling, since nobody is chasing us.

Watch it only if you feel like wasting about a minute of your time.

Honestly, I don't know why they put this in here. It's literally just the last chase but even easier.

Next time on Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves:

Druids!

- I can smell 'em!
