Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

Part 26

Update 25: KALPA.

First things first. And that's the LEVELLING UP.

Another Magatama mastered.

Then, time to go to Kabukicho. No, it won't be explored this time. I just want to have it right now in the Teleport menu.

Aww he hates fallen angels.

And HOORAY!
Divine beings agree with the Mantra. They are huge assholes.

Oh no! Not torture.

But... You are a spirit. You don't need that! You float naturally!
Anyways, yes you can step on that purplish area. It is damagefloor.

Good treasure.

Time to go slumming then.

And that's it for Kabukicho.

So then, it is time to teleport to SOMEWHERE ELSE. It's FUSION TIME!

MATADOOOOR!

If you say so.

Since the Momunofu was used to create the Matador, some money has to be wasted for resummoning his most updated form... 2 minutes before the fusion.

Then another Eligor.

Then a Sarutahiko. Why? Because one never knows when one will need one. That's why. And it will serve for fusion later. Yeah, that's it.

Back to the Labyrinth.

All the menorahs are done.

AND THIS gross door opens. Hooray!

This is the Second Kalpa. As you can see, it looks far more decayed.

But in closer look... IT IS ALIVE, once more, it is getting more organic. It is getting grosser.

And this assholes appear there...

They are really, really dangerous.

JESUS TAPDANCING CHRIST WHAT THE HELL IS THAT.
Answer: FLAUROS.
Creepiest. Furry. In. THe. Game.
You see, its head is strapped to its chest. And the thing that is where the head should be? It is a sword. And yes, it does use it in battle. And it is fucking creepy.

Wait. What?
The voice of the Universe?
I do not comprehend.
AND FLAUROS IS CREEPY.

No way but down.

Time to mimic certain Sunderland.

"Everyone around here keeps arguing about Gaea and Messiah, whatever those are... Well, if you walk around, you'll see."
This here is the first real connection with the previous two games. Both cults have been mentioned. Funny thing, in the previous ones, the Mesia church was the one that destroyed the world. But in this one it is the Gaians' turn. Buuut not everything is like it seems.

One needs a key to open this kind of doors. If you remember, there is a similar one in the First Kalpa. One needs to go back to previous areas sometimes.

"Everyone, listen!
The world has lost its power under the reign of god.
Because of that we are on the verge of destruction."
The verge? Wrong. Very wrong.

"But, there is no need to fear. The Gaea cult will ensure our survival! Together we will resurrect the strength of the ancient world! ..."
Apparently, this guy is not aware that he is dead.

"but, the Order of Messiah wouldn't accept that, and a conflict erupted. We didn't realize that our worst enemy was already among us."
The worst enemy?
It is Hikawa. He was a heretic in the Gaea/Gaia cult itself. As you can see, his objective IS/was wildly different from that of the regular Gaia cult. The people that died in the incident that triggered the whole game? Also Gaean cultists, if I recall correctly. He was purging his own group.

"But, the Order of Messiah, brainwashed by a jealous god, won't allow us to do so.
... I am telling you, they are the ones who should be oppressed, not us!"
you see, clearly, the Mesians and the Gaeans both are asshats. BOTH.

hooray! Protection from Death!

LEVEL UP. And KAMIKAZE.

Wait. WhaT?

It's Evolution, baby!

HOOO. FUCKING. RAY!

Perfect escape. Will be needed. Yes. It will.

"Everything is his will... Everything changes at his will. You must leave this dreaded place and fulfill the part you were originally intended for"
Well, damn, this guys are determinists.

Another Magatama mastered.

IS HISTORY GOING ON BACKWARDS?

RAIDOU KUZUNOHA?!?

No shit.

Lame.

Since this was not a mystical chest, not lame.

What if I don't want to?

Notice. This is not the same floor. Have not shown the map yet, I think.

How bad could it be?

Oh. Shit.

Next time: Getting cursed for fun and profit.

Also: Is this format of long conversations any better? Sure, I do get lazy in some parts, but does the transcribed stuff help at all?
