Part 45: Obong-Ni Ridge: Turn 20

I have important news at the end of this update; even if you just skim through it/don't read it, you may want to read the conclusion.

Obong-Ni Ridge: Turn 20





Once again, very little is accomplished during our turn. A few sections of their's are repulsed though, and every North Korean we don't have to deal with in a few turns is a good North Korean.



The important thing going on is that we save as many units a we can for the final battle. Even at their most deadly, the enemy has only taken out a few units each turn. If the addition of a buffer zone of a few units can cost them 2 or 3 turns, we may be able to win the mission...

... This of course, relies on a very loose definition of the word 'win'.



Meanwhile, all fire support assets are being directed at the ridge now. I hope the delay doesn't allow them to get across, but there aren't any designated fire points at the enemy front lines anymore.



The enemy doesn't get that much killing done this turn. I guess this would have less to do with 'We had a good turn' and more to do with 'They already killed everyone in their way'.

It could be both, though.






I'm counting on the fact that the enemy can't advance too quickly under fire. My primary concern is that they outflank us to the south, but my fears are somewhat assuaged by the fact that there are simply not enough turns in the game for that to happen.

On a more positive note, my computer has come back in from the shop with all of its systems intact. This means we have the option of reverting back to PBEM matches. However, we did just plan another mission match, so this should be discussed from now until the end of the current mission.
