Part 81: November Cod Crisis: Canadian Turn 16
November Cod Crisis: Canadian Turn 16Not a very eventful turn, but a good one nonetheless.
Our northern unit captures all but one of the VP's there. Soon we will have a total monopoly of the north, unless Sam. has infiltrating forces going around the eastern flank.
NOTE TO SELF: Check eastern flank.
When going to attack the southern bunker, a Danish infantry group ambushes us! We pin both the bunker and the infantry, but our forces are bogged down as well, so this doesn't look good...
Until I realise that we still have a unit with some movement points. It rallies successfully, and keeps rallying through MG fire from a bunker even farther to the south (one or two men are lost).
It manages a successful assault at the last second. Since assaults don't use up any ammo to speak of, the only possible explanation is that the infantry do a running headbutt on the vehicle/fortification in question.
Unless someone has another explanation, that's what I'm sticking with.
Unless Sam. thrashes apart our infantry force, we could stand to gain about 4 or 5 VP's next turn. Should we ask for surrender after the next round of captures? You guys decide.
