Part 15: Chapter 4-2

Back at the police station, our buddy Stasek is still at his post.

“Hey, friend.”



“I’d like to talk to your boss. Is he in now?”



“How’d you know?”



“Thanks.”



Behind Stasek…

And it’s our favorite asshole police chief. The other one.

“Inspector Skalnic?”



“Hahaha, you son of a…”



“I’d like to ask you about Mark, the local artist.”



“Well, I thought I remember you saying that you had no suspects related to these crimes. And this charming gentleman, says otherwise.”



“He said that you accused him of the crimes. May I ask why?”



Well, the fact he sounds *exactly* like that crazy hobo across town is a little weird…

“It doesn’t matter what I think.”



“Fine. Can you at least lend me the files on the other victims?”



“Why not? I just want to consult them. Hey, I thought we were working to…”



“Well now, it seems we work for the same kind of people, except my clients have character and honesty.”







Yeah, that tactic didn’t go over well. Skalnic kindly points us toward the door.



And then a moment later, he’s downstairs in his car, backing through the front gate of the station. I don’t think he’s happy. Whelp, we’ll go downstairs and talk to Kaz again.

“Hey Kaz, I need another favor.”



“I need to get some files from Skalnic’s office. Can you let me in?”



“Ah, come on, for old time’s sake.”



“All right, thanks for the tip.”





As noted, Skalnic’s departure has left the gate that used to be locked over here open.



And he has a rope…thing leading right up to his office. Let’s just climb that.





…or not. The rope breaks.



But we wind up with a length of rope in our inventory for our troubles.



Over here is a mass of pixels cleverly disguised as some chunks of wood.



Yoink.



In our inventory, we’ll just combine the rope and the wood to make…

Skalnic’s desk has the keys to his file cabinet.



His office otherwise has…yeah.

Anyway, as soon as we’re clear, Skalnic drives back in and locks the gate behind him. So no more snooping around his office.
