Part 2: Round 2 - The Red Button
And with that, Round 1 is officially done! We had 36 racers and we're losing 3. Tough luck to Dragonatrix, ChaosArgate and Metroixer. Hope you guys had fun though, and I hope you'll show up as a fake-racer in rounds to come!For the remaining 33 of you, it's time to start Round 2!
Remember how in the last round there was a sort of risk/reward thing? Like, maybe you could intentionally get a worse time in Round 1 to set yourself up for a better time later on? Well, this round is nothing but that.
Here's what's up:
- Your race begins when you select your 8/9 Star File on the File Select screen.
- Once you reach 29 stars, you may not collect any more stars.
- You may enter Tower of the Wing Cap at any point after it unlocks.
- Your race ends immediately when the Save Game prompt after pressing the Red Switch in Tower of the Wing Cap disappears. At this point, you will have anywhere between 10 and 30 stars.
- You must not activate any other Cap switches.
- You must not catch the rabbit in the basement.
Strategy, secrecy and subterfuge are a key part of this round. Also dramatic irony would be good I think. Hopefully there's some of that.
I am not going to tell you what milestone Round 3 is up to. It should be fairly easy to guess. The combined length of Rounds 2 and 3 is more than twice the length of Round 1.
