Part 33: Chapter 23 Family Reunion
Chapter 23 Family Reunion
Welcome back. Last time it was revealed to us that Katri is the Princess of the Kingdom of Salia and that for reasons unknown her parents are still alive for no apparent reason. So its time to get rid of another usurper and reunite another family.

The chapter is called the Maidens tears.

So, time to start the chapter. The castle troops wont come after you and Rishel has a siege tome which I would like to preserve. So we are going to take it slow for the first few turns. Lets take a look at what we are dealing with.

The Shields are going to be annoying for sure but otherwise they seem to lack a punch as long as we protect our squishy members.

Rishel is an awesome unit thanks in part to his personal tome. Still he wont do anything in this chapter and Ill take later about him.

Ahab once again lacks a means to attack at range so Alicia gets the honor of tearing him apart. Even if I wasnt using her, he isnt a problem at all apart from his Brave Weapon.

Both sides approach each other slowly and only the pegasus knights are on the move so that they can create room for the reinforcements to spawn.

Some more reinforcements come from the east. These ones have Lances equipped.

Lionheart is starting his part of the map that is going to result in killing tons of pegasus knights. With this level he can now one shot them, which comes in handy.

The pegasus knights start mounting their attack.

And they continue to get reinforcements.

Lionheart and Zachariah take care of some of them.

As does Attrom.

A few bow knights spawn in the top corner of the map but will need some time to come down due to the terrain.

More strength is always nice.

Well could be better but it could be worse as well since Defense is pretty important.

We are almost finished with killing of reinforcements.

On the sixth turn someone sneaks up on the fortress.

This scene only plays if you visit the inn in Chapter 3 and recruit Narcissus in Chapter 9 (before he runs away with your money). Otherwise youll be forced to kill/lose Rishel to proceed.

So now we have a way to recruit Rishel. Unfortunately Bud has neither weapons nor defense meaning she will die if any enemy comes her way. So we have to be cautious when moving her to our position.

Lionheart and Holmes continue to kill pegasus riders with the support of Plum and Holmes gets a bad level from it.

Zachariah acts as a stopgag between us and the enemies forces who are trying to attack him...

But fail to inflict any meaningful damage since the guy with the Armor Slayer refuses to move.

Zachariah himself however isnt amused by my constant abuse of him

Lionheart switched to a sword and killed a pegasus on a counter resulting in a defensive level up.

Bud slowly but surely makes her way towards our group.

Lionel and Attrom cut up some Bow Knight reinforcements and Atrrom gets a decent level from it.

Shigens however turns out less great

With the reinforcements dead and Bud having caught up to our group its time to lure out the armor knights so that Bud can make a beeline for Rishel in order to not get targeted by his siege tome.

Alicia makes short work of the first one and gets an ok level. Speed is always nice.

Meanwhile Lionel takes out the other one with some help from the rest of our army. His level unfortunately hits the less important stats but everything is fine as long as it isnt empty.

Plum enables Bud to go the distance

And to start the talk with Rishel. Everything worked out nicely.

Anway I do not want to waste Rishels tome, so I have him retreat. Ahab wont attack Bud so we are safe in that regard.

Lionheart will be the one to initiate the slaughter for some unique dialogue (which Rishel probably would have had as well...)

Newsflash: The Queen is their sister, of course they would betray you, you moron...

Sadly Lionheart cant finish the job therefore we have to take drastic measures...

Alicia flurries him away for some defence.

Thus we finished the map and as a bonus got a Master Sword in mint condition.

If Ahab imprisoned them in the regular dungeon, did they have any guards or did he basically abandon the entire dungeon to keep things secret?

Its amazing that once again, none of the parents look anything like the child or vice versa. Genetics dont seem to exist in Japan.

Why do you believe Zachariah? He helped Ahab for crying out loud. He kept you imprisoned... why is everyone insane

Would anyone kindly tell them that Ahab lies in a pool of his own blood? Zachariah? Lionheart? Holmes? Anyone?

Two of them sit around spinning thumbs outside the castle at the moment...

And thats it for this chapter.

Bud is another thief in this game. She is the only to learn Elite which is a point in her favor and if you want to grind her up she will learn Dragon Saint (Astra) at lvl 40. However both her strength and defence growth are atrocious meaning you can only use her in combination with magic swords for which she needs to accumulate Wlvls. All of this is quite a bit of work for a mediocre fighting unit at best. If you want to have a fighting thief I would wait for Narcissus since he is the most RNG proof out of the folk although he lacks Steal.
Rishel

Gale (starting), Earth Saint (starting), Anti-Evil (level 15), Continue (lvl 32)
Rishel is the last unpromoted mage you get and by god he is amazing on account of his personal tome. His personal tome Sunflame negates the one weakness mages have by giving Rishel a whooping 10 defence as long as its equpped. This mean at base Rishel already has 16 defence almost as much as Zachariah without his problems. It also has 15 might, 3 range and 70 uses making it even more amazing. Stat wise Rishel comes with decent bases and the best growths from the mages as well as another point of movement. Usually he turns out to be your best mage.
