Part 46: Chapter 32/33 The Temple of Fire
Chapter 32/33 The Temple of Fire
So its time to head to the temple of Fire and grab the Holy Sword of Salia in case the evil god revives.

However to get there we have to head through this cesspool of a map that Im going to more or less skip

Bullshit. Remember you are trying to ressurect an evil god

So lets talk about what makes this chapter bullshit and annoying as hell. First of all almost the entirety of the map is swamp. Swamp is a worse terrain than desert in that it in addition to slowing you to a crawl also damages you every turn. In addition to that you got a bunch of AoE breaths to deal with from the dragons, constantly respawning witches thatll love to go after your less sturdy members. Once you make it a good deal through the swamp youll be bottlenecked and have to fight through mages all armed with AoE tomes. Lastly the boss has the evil version of the Aura Rain tome e.g. a tome that targets every unit of your team and hits like a truck.
To all of that I say fuck it and proceed as follows

First we murder the approaching monsters

Then we send a unit over to kill the boss (Yoda would have worked as well).

But I was greedy and got rewarded with a good level.

Next you refresh Renee and send Holmes over as well.

Who then captures the temple and ends the map. Naturally this will make the post-battle quotes completely senseless but its a price Im willing to pay.

Since this would be quite the short update I decided to include the next map as well.

The temple houses a few of the usual monster and this dude who has the annoying target all tome and in addition quite a powerful dark magic tome as well. Lastly he also holds an Elixier which means hell revive one time. Still this map is infinitely easier to deal with than the last one.

We advance and Rishel burns the dragon to a crisp for a level. It seems the running gag of this LP is the utter refusal of mages to gain any magic. This will last through this map as well.

Anyway Rishel steps into his training center. He is able to one shot any of those with his personal tome and is only at a small risk of actually dieing. Still since Id rather not tempt the RNG Ill gave him a shield beforehand.

And so it begins

These levels make me sad

On their end Billford gets an ok level and Shigen seems to pay for his great level in the last map.

After a single turn almost all golems have bitten the dust.

Get magic for crying out loud

Seems I have to do everything myself. Ill decided to promote him now since it gives no exp malus and he wont reach lvl 40 anyhow since he lacks elite.

I wouldnt have been surprised if he somehow refused to gain magic here either

the boss shows what he is capable off and takes almost half hp off everyone on the team (except for Holmes, Plum, Yoda and Raquel who dodge )

Billford just heals up by overkilling the nearest dragon.

Rishel stays at a distance and burns away the bosses first life with his siege tome.

Holmes is so kind as to end his second one only a few moments later. He even gets a decent level out of it.

Anime transformation scene complete.

And with that we have the Holy Sword of Salia one of the more powerful weapons in the game. We stop here today as what follows is another instance of too many uninteresting
