Part 50: Chapter 36 – Peace Negotiations

Update 36 – Peace Negotiations



Welcome back. Today we’re heading to Norzeria for peace negotiations with Sennet. For those that don’t remember Norzeria was the city were both fathers of Runan and Sennet had their peace negotiations and got burnt to a crisp by the Holy Dragon Muse aka Enteh.







The city is still in ruins from the past and is infested with the same boring monster we fought way too often already. Our goal is reaching the mansion with the red roof.



Verna joined us last time. She has ok stats (better than most of our pegasi outside of Sasha) but more importantly she comes with quite the potent weapon. Her lance is a brave weapon that has a reach of two and has 18 mt in addition to it’s massive amount of uses. You could probably almost solo the rest of the game with that lance given that she is only available for 4 maps (and only 1 if you haven’t trained an on foot lance wielder)





: Yes. We meet him at the center of the town. It seems the prince has already arrived. What… Lord Runan. There. Isn’t that Lady Enteh?







: But…

: It was I who burned this town. It’s my fault that so many people lost their lives including your father. I disrupted the peace of Canaan and Leeve. I… it is necessary for me to atone for my crimes.

: It’s different. It was Muse who torched this town! Enteh, it wasn’t you!

: I’m a cursed girl. As my father told me before, I bring misfortune and pain to the people. I… it would have been better if I was never born!



And Enteh runs away….





: Why? Don’t you think that Enteh is in sorrow?

And with that we are back in control. The enemies as previously told are the same monsters as always: Ogres, Harpies, Skeletons and Zombie Dragons. All of them are absolutely no danger to our team at this point and are basically just free experience. So let’s collect it.









Ah yes, I forgot about how much my characters value experience and levels







We’ll grab an ok level for Rina and a decent level for Runan (strength is always nice).











Before entering the mansion we gulp down a few more stat booster (I swear Sierra will not gain magic any other way apparently…). Now that that is done let’s go and meet up with Sennet.









: You.. I heard your name before, Lady Reshie.

: How kind of you, Lord Runan.



: King Temzin, it is a pleasure to meet you.



: Princess Katina of Erial, “The Crushing Demon Swordswoman” and greatest swordswoman on the continent.

: According to the minstrels perhaps. Truth is I’m not even equal to my father’s footwork.



: Aahhh… You’re…

: That… Let’s talk about that later.

: Alright.



: General Silva, I heard from father about your activities when you were still the commander of the Black Knight Corps.

: How kind of you. After Prince Ares died the Black Knight Corps was supressed and many knights were sent into exile by the Zoa Empire. I have fought hard to this day to help them.

: The place of exile at Zoa was liberated. The Black Knight Corps under General Silva is being rebuilt. They are the main force of the Canaan liberation army alongside General Theodora.

: General Theodora…



: For the future of Canaan I will sacrifice my life.

: Ares’ Black Knight Corps under General Silva and Julius’ Dragon Knight Corps under General Theodora are the pride of Canaan.

: They are also the sword and shield of the new Canaan. Barbarossa and Ernst.. both would be pleased.

: Prince Runan, I should get straight to the point. By the authority that was given to me, I want to say in the name of our people that this war is Canaan’s responsibility. We have brought great distress to the people of Leeve and the western nations. Whatever conditions you set, our goal is simply to end this war. If we can secure the life and freedom of the people of Canaan, then we don’t need anything else. This is not an armistice pact. The Zoa Empire will surrender unconditionally.

: Prince Sennet, the Zoa Empire was dismantled and Canaan’s union is fighting against Gazel. As things stand, we are already allies. Certainly within Leeve there are some voices who hope for retribution against Canaan, but I will never allow that. The condition are the return of the territory between our two countries to the state before the war and cooperation in the fight against Gazel. In other words it will be as two years ago when your father and mine signed the pact between our two countries. What say you to this?

: Prince Runan, on behalf of the people of the five houses of Canaan, I wish to express my deepest gratitude.

: Prince Sennet, that’s enough of formalities. I heard your little sister was kidnapped by Gwen. Let#S sign the contract as soon as possible so you can get to the Temple of Gazel otherwise the situation might turn dreadful.

: Yes.

: Lord Sennet, Lord Runan. I have prepared the document for the truce no... the alliance. After you read it, please sign.


: It’s alright.

: I agree.

: Then here…… and with that it is settled. The Kingdom of Leeve and the Kingdom of Canaan, two nations allied under on cause. Your majesties, your fathers must surely feel at ease. Lord Runan, Lord Sennet, feudal lords and every vassal knight… Congratulations.

*massive cheer*



Seems something is about to crash our party.







: Like your father before you, you will be burnt to ash. Go Flying Dragon Rakis/Lakiss











Our own murder dragon to the rescue!







And with that we are back in control. We have to survive 5 turns against Rakis which is as easily done as it is said. Nobody can hurt him or Enteh so just square them off against each other and meanwhile attack the other opposing forces. Speaking of them…











For the moment they just consist out of these five summoners that are going to throw a massive amount of monsters at us who are only dangerous if they swarm one of your fragile less agile units (Sierra )





Here are the Dragons. The stats aren’t even that impressive but their Holy Dragon Scales raise their def and mdef by 40 and makes them immune against normal weapons.





Rina cuts down one summoner before he can even start his handiwork and we start to position ourselves for the defense.









The others however start their summoning.





Sun gets attacked by one and kills it in the counter attack and suddenly gets strength for once, Truly a rare occurence so far and definitely welcome seeing that it’s her biggest flaw.



A few more Gazel troops will spawn every subsequent turn unless you block those spawns. But even those troops are complete pushovers. Sorry that it isn’t more interesting.



The witch gets immediately killed off before she can go after a vulnerable unit and be a risk factor.















We start our monster extermination and Rennie's level is good (strength in this game is always welcome) and Narron still surprises me that he only got a single empty level despite maxing strength. Good kid. Rina's is quite bad however.



More monsters to kill..











Lionel is a bit on the weak side defensively and not that amazing offensively but his movement is stellar and he is one of the few who can use lances on foot so he got a great weapon waiting for him once Verna has to dismount. Also his defensive shortcomings can be patched up with the huge number of shields I have amassed over the game. Sierra however still hates me and Sun couldn’t have gotten a better single stat level up.





The second batch of Gazel troops joins the fray and Lionel takes over witch killing duties from Verna.







Who gets rid of another summoner and gets a typical Pegasi level.



Round 3 of the summoner gauntlet.





That I still field Zach is quite telling about the level ups in this game (Sierra stats are worse but mapwide movement is kind of an asset.)





Samson grabs a level and Lionel kills the next witch on turn number 4.





Monster keep on suiciding on Vega for a crappy level to the point that I have to call him back as to not use up his weapon too much (Monster only go after base defense it seems since Vega has a 97% crit chance and an effective weapon.).



Rina however gets an absolute stellar level from engaging one of the last few Ogres left. Strength and movement are both 10% growths.



Sun herself fixed on this map what really held her back as well. Keep on trucking girls.





Meanwhile Sierra tries to make me bench her it seems. So many empty levels on her



Anyway with that the five turns pass and Sennet comes running towards Rakis/Lakis.











: This is the Ring of Canaan. But this…

: I already can’t…



: Aahhh….



And Neyfa is teleported away.



: I also gained possession of Meeve because of this. For the time being I should retreat.



And Enteh disappears as well.







: This… is the Ring of Leeve. Why did she give this to you? Why would she give away something so precious?

: Perhaps you should ask her yourself. It is not that far to Rimne, where the Temple of Water lies.

: Right! I’ll go at once.

: Prince Runan I’m going to the Temple of Wind. If I have the Ring of Canaan I can revive the Sacred Sword of Canaan! Then I can defeat Gwen and rescue my sister!

: I’ll bring Enteh back with me and then catch up with you. Prince Sennet please wait for us at the Temple of Gazel.





: I’m sorry about before. I said some very hurtful things.

: It’s okay. This war has gone on for over two years and I’ve killed so many foes that I’ve lost count. I have no regrets, but sometimes it’s all too much to bear. I don’t blame you for calling me a brute.

For those interested Runan killed 46 units. The top three are of this group are Attrom (73), Narron (65) and Samson (63). Runner ups are Vega (62), Lionel (53) and Sierra (51).

: Ah… I’m sorry though… I didn’t know you very well back then. Now I don’t think you’re a brute at all.

: So, Princess Est, what do you want with me?

: You saved me, so take this as a token of my gratitude.

: What is it?

: This is the treasured Holy Blade of Canaan. Surely it will be useful in the battle against Gazel. Now I shall return to Canaan to hold a memorial service ofr my father, Uncle Julius and the others. Do be careful… I shall pray for your success in battle, Lord Runan.





Despite Est’s intentions the sword is garbage. It has 1 Mt only 50 hit and only adds 7 Mdef to the character wielding it.



Next time we visit the Temple of Water to talk some sense into Enteh and get her back.
