WarHammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Dark Crusade

by Blind Sally

Part 24: Day 20, intercepted communication from the Blood Raven Chapel-Barracks

Meanwhile, at the Blood Ravens Chapel Barracks--

You ever get the feeling that Brother-Captain Thule doesn't exactly know what he's doing?
Come on, now, that's heresy. Keep it down, eh?
Pfft, whatever. So, how's the clone pod going?
Damnit, will you keep it down!
Oh, what, I said "clone". No one else is here, they're not gonna find out. We're just "preserving the gene-seed"!
Hey, whatcha guys talkin' about?
Oh!
Uh, hey! Didn't see you there.
We Grey Knights walk softly.
Right. Yeah.
Uh.
Yeah.
Hmm.
Yup.
We're just, uh, just talkin' about the latest Blood Bowl game.
Y-yeah, what a match, eh?
Pah, the Grey Knights have no time for such trivial games. Excuse me.
Oh, uh, see you!
Jeez.
*phew* That was close.
Yeah, so how about keeping the "C" word on the downlow, huh?
Yeah, yeah. Ahh, it's done! Welcome back Captain Thule.
Thank you, soldier. I have to say, I'm not happy about this, though. We're using the clone pods a lot more than I would like on this mission. Not something I want to have continue, considering we have those Grey Knights hanging around.
Good news, everyone! No need to warm up the clone pods, as our Brother-Captain is alive and well! Or, well, mostly well. The filthy xeno did injure his eye--b, but out dedicated servitors were able to replace it with a cybernetic enhancement. Better than running the clone pods with so many Grey Knights around, haha, wouldn't want them to catch wind about how we "preserve our gene seed", haha.
This cybernetic eye is a small price to pay, I feel. It actually enhances my skills and should be a boon on the battlefield. I'll have to "thank" O'Kais personally. Uhh...

Hey, guys, sorry to interrupt again, but I think I left my crossword in here. Uh, say, who's that?
...
...
Uh, I am, uh...
He's our new Force Commander!
Yes! Yes, I am!
Oh, good.
Yes! I am, uh, Force Commander Thule!
Thule? Isn't that--
HAHAHAHA! YES, MY COUSIN, ARAMUS THULE!
Oh, wow, I didn't know you had a cousin.
HAHAHAHA, YEAH, I DON'T LIKE TO TALK ABOUT HIM!
Oh. Okay. Well, I have my crossword. Pleasure meeting you, Force Commander Aramus.
Y-yeah, it was nice.
GOODBYE!

Uh, well, that was a close--
Get this man off planet immediately.
