Part 1: A few more locator cards, meeting the Ghouls
Part 2: A few more locator cards, meeting the GhoulsWelcome back folks, today we're just going to start things off right by dueling Rex Raptor. He should be pre-
Okay apparently not. Let's just go wander around a bit.
This kid looks weird, I'll just go ahead and crush his hopes and dreams real quick.
(Invisible Wire makes it so a monster that attacks me with an attack of 2,000 or less is destroyed, useless because no one will attack me)
So yeah he makes his older brother fight me. How do you think that'll turn out?
(the card I got was Kiseitai which is awful, level 2 300 attack 800 defense, 59 cost)
Here's the whole point of this, we're here to fight Espa Roba. In the anime, we're introduced to him as he defeats Rex Raptor in a duel and takes his rarest card (Serpent Night Dragon) because he's "psychic". Joey then duels him and after like a billion episodes realizes that he had someone (his little brothers) on a roof behind his opponents with binoculars telling him their hands. Joey beat him and got a locator card and Jinzo.
Mokuba (Kaiba's little brother) was going to ban him and his brothers from the tournament but didn't because anime.
Yeah sure keep telling yourself that kid.
So as you can see, he can't actually win.
Actually, the reason I put this screenshot was to show another shitty aspect of the duel system that I didn't touch on in the first update. As you can see I have 5 cards in my hand. Those of you who understand the game should realize that I should have 6 after the draw phase. Nope, in this game you can only have a maximum of 5 cards in your hand!
Named duelists say something special when it's their turn, in this case "Pipipi" which is retarded.
I show him the error of his ways with a pretty cool card, Flash Assailant has 2000 attack and 2000 defense and is level 4. Naturally, if I were playing this game normally, I would never have enough Deck Capacity for one of these, let alone three.
I sacrifice him for Jinzo though because fuck yeah jinzo
I kill his little yellow lizard thing and then activate Monster Reborn, intending to revive my Flash Assailant.
However;
Monster Reborn automatically revives something from your opponent's graveyard, so I'm stuck with this stupid lizard.
Luckily the monsters this early have shit defense.
I attack him directly several times while having that yellow lizard attack his defense position monsters until
I win and obtain a Jinzo! Except that I have 200, 2 of which are in my deck. Oh well.
Because you made the mistake of accepting my challenge.
They run off, but hey now I have a locator card!
Now I'll show off the overworld real quick, since I still haven't done that.
The red dots are the areas we can go. Right now all that is open is Clock Town Square, the Card Shop (not Yugi's grandpas card shop, the one we can buy cards from), and the Art Museum, which we can't go into yet.
For now, let's go to the card shop.
Pretty big store.
Oh wait, nevermind.
The card shop has a lot of cards, this is the only thing Domino is used for. You can also sell cards for money to buy more.
Over here is the password machine. Passwords are on the bottom-left corner of basically every Yu-Gi-Oh card with some exceptions (like the Egyptian Gods). It's an 8 digit code which you type in.
After typing in a code, the shop gets the card in stock and you can buy it. Yeah.
In front of the Art Museum we meet the other member of Yugi's rag tag group of friends, Bakura!
I haven't show where Tea and Tristan are, Tristan is in front of your house and Tea is inside Solomon Motou's card shop. Joey is also hanging out in there, I could probably duel him but I don't remember, I'll check at the beginning of the next update.
I slept in after writing TRPG scenarios last night. I made it to the Tourney just a while ago.
Bakura likes table-top games. In the manga, he is introduced right at the end of the original series (right before the card game became the main focus) and his Millenium Ring (one of the Millenium Items) makes him turn into an evil version of himself and he puts our heroes in a table top RPG. Yami Yugi takes over Yugi's body and plays a game to win their souls back which he naturally wins (he is the king of games you know).
Throughout Battle City in the anime he is basically ignored, but he still makes it to the finals where he loses to Yugi in the first round He then fights Marik and loses because of some sideline confusion between Yami Bakura and non-Yami Marik.
I fight him and he loses badly. I finish him off with Blue Eyes White Dragon.
This is the card I win;
Jesus Christ look at the cost. And for only 1200 attack?
Now I begin to piss about in Clock Town for a bit, and after starting the quest with Anzu and Kafei, I notice that Bonz is not in his graveyard.
Woah woah woah, someone is kicking people's asses and it's not me? This cannot stand! Stand aside creepy zombie kid, I'll take care of this!
Hey! You! This is my city! I have three locator cards to prove it!
Yeah we'll see.
I like his "it's my turn" text however.
Notice the different background, this is a different field condition. Different field conditions cause certain monsters to be powered up. In this case, Fiends are powered up and maybe Shadows too?
Too bad he isn't able to take advantage of it!
I get this shitty card as a result.
I don't know what duel you were watching, but it looked like I gang raped you with a couple bugs and a panther with a sword.
He runs away like the bitch he is.
Yes, yes, you may go back to sulking around in the graveyard remembering how badly I beat your sorry ass.
So let's see if the great Rex Raptor will allow us to duel him yet
That card is as good as mine!
And on his first turn he activates Mooyan Curry, which as you can see recovers 200 lifepoints. Now, unlike your hand and your deck size, this is one thing that isn't hard capped. You can have more than 8000 lifepoints, but I have a feeling you can't have more than 9999, but I'm not sure.
It doesn't matter, just 200 more lifepoints for me to attack.
And so it begins.
And also ends.
Ugh, why are we the only ones with good cards?
Join me next time for more dueling "action"!
