MS Saga: A New Dawn

by Tobias Grant

Part 12

Off to Marie's place!

I am shocked by this development!

what

She then gives us this thing and tells us where we can find Vargas.

Hey, remember that Black Marketeer in Eisengrad? With the Black Ticket, we can now go and buy some stuff from him. I didn't do it right now, but I will after the next dungeon, which isn't very long.

I love the Gyan.

Here we are.

Just have to show this guy the ticket, and we're in.

This place has a lot of stores, and pretty much all of them have some very nice stuff.

Some very, VERY nice stuff. Expensive as all hell though.

Purchased:
4 prototype shields
2 knuckle guards
4 Arm Launchers
4 Missile Launchers
4 Sniper Rifles
3 Small Shields
1 Battle Shield
4 Arm Beam Guns
4 Beam Cannons
4 Rail Guns
6 Beam Sabers
3 Extra Wings

I gave Gavenger and Tremmie an Extra Wing to give them a nice speed boost.

You served me well, Xamel Cannon

New weapon load outs. This is in no way the best set up I could have made, but meh. It works and that's all that matters.

Let's barge right on in!

Well crap, who could have seen this coming?

They then throw us in the basement.

With nothing better to do, I run around in circles until something happens.

Katz goes about saying that he's gonna kick the Pirate Leader's ass.

Vargas then shows that he's a pretty cool guy.

He goes about telling us that he hates the Dark Alliance. Guess he's in the clear.

The Dark Alliance then starts messing up the Sky Pirate's turf. Katz offers to help and Vargas agrees.

Now we are free to explore the base! Let's stop by the roof first.

Finally! Now we can open those damned locked doors!

The other chests contained an ECAP (S), a Medical System part (Cures Hurt status when unit is in the back row), and a Hacking Tool.

There's nothing on the first floor, so let's go to the second and reunite with our buddies.

Gavenger also beat up some pirates.

Cool.

Let's go!

These pirates are the best pirates.

A short ride later and we're at our destination.

Vargas is the team's resident sniper. He never really does an insane amount of damage like the others can, but he is insanely useful in some of the later fights because of some of his Boosts. His suit is also actually the GM Sniper II instead of the GM Sniper.

And unlike the previous temporary party member, we can change Vargas's equipment around!

Off to the G-System!

Much like G-System 02, this place consists of long hallways filled with enemies.

You're only just now noticing this?

The chests in this room contain an ECAP (S) and a Mobility Upgrade Kit.

The Enemy GM Sniper is closer to what the GM Sniper I looked like.

Well fudge.

Fritz suggests that we run, while Katz wants to see blood.

Meet the Death Army. They're a deceptively tough enemy.

Their weapons are just the Rod Type Beam Rifle, and the Heat Hawk. Despite both of them being rather weak weapons, they can do a large amount of damage.

The worst thing about them, though, is that they can regenerate 100 HP every turn they are alive. You have to concentrate your attacks to make sure they go down before the turn is up.

It's a bit of a fight, but they still go down.

After that fight, however, we have to fight 2 more groups of 5 Death Army suits.

You can probably guess how those fights went.

The G-System is still just cranking these suits out.

Now for the boss!

Four Death Army suits, and one Death Army SP.

This fight goes much like the others, the only difference is the Death Army SP unit is much stronger than the standard grunt.

Aeon ended up getting Dazed during the fight. Dazed is just Confusion with a different name.

I thought I'd show off one of Vargas's Boosts, but...

Tremmie ended up killing him before I could demonstrate it

Snipe Assist will prevent an enemy from counter attacking.

Gavenger learns the Beam equivalent of Chaff Field. prevents all enemy beam based attacks from causing damage except of melee attacks.

The Rod Type Beam Rifle we picked up from that fight is just perfect for Katz. It's weak, but it adds 5 to the suits Melee stat, which is great since Katz is all about melee. It's kinda big though.

And shut it down we do.

They then have a conversation that is 90% foreshadowing.

The room begins to shake, and we decide to hightail it out of here.

As we try to leave, though. Something happens!

I knew this was going to happen! I knew she was crazy!

And then a cut scene happens.

Really.

Fritz starts to freak out. I don't blame him

Let's just get out of here.
