The big man himself finally takes the stage for real. As final bosses go, Deathevan lives up to the hype. His basic physical attack deals over 100 damage, up to 170+ damage on weaker characters. He’s so fast only Lin can act before he does. He has twice as much HP as Barbaroi. He can cast Death to instantly kill one of your party members. He has a special version of Ice breath that deals 80 – 100 damage to all party members. Apart from the basic things, he also has a number of special attacks he likes to use from time to time. Deathevan can flip out and use a super-powered Silence spell on the entire party, though it seems to be quite innacurate. He also has a special Drain attack that steals 60 HP and a bunch of AP from every party member and gives it to himself. He loves to spam this during the middle of the fight, so bringing AP restoring items is a must. When the going gets really tough and Deathevan falls into critical HP he’ll start using an attack called Soulless Laser that deals 120+ unblockable non-elemental damage to the entire team.
The best strategy I’ve found is to make sure your healer has a steady supply of AP. AP in general is absolutely key in this fight. Deathevan has a nasty range of party-wide attacks that requires nearly constant casting of Vitalise, and this can be a real problem when Deathevan begins spamming his drain attack. Your spellcasters will inevitably run out of AP, so bringing Nina along is a good idea since she can replenish herself for free. Just chain-cast Valhalla until she runs dry and then use Spirit until she can use it again. Ryu and Lin are the main attackers, with Lin acting as an emergency healer if necessary. With some work and a bit of luck you can win the battle.

Ryu and his friends made a brave stand against the Dark God, Deathevan, and defeated him…
But that was not the end of the story.
Deep inside, Ryu knew that even though he had sundered the form of Deathevan, his wicked spirit lingered.
If left to fester beneath the earth, his evil would emerge once again to cover the world in pain and darkness…
Ryu followed the Dragon’s heart that beat within him and chose to watch over the gate…
