Part 9: Stew

Stew

We're back with a whole slew of crazy ideas, Dizzy!
You say this as if it is something new.

I think you should try the bolt cutters on the crank to see if that lowers a drawbridge.

I'm not sure that'd help. The rope on the crank is currently unwound, so cutting the rope with the bolt cutters would prevent me from ever using it. The crank is jammed though... if only I hadn't used up that entire grease gun earlier.
Mhm. If only. Ah well, I think it's time to clean up the village again.

Hmm. The only suggestions I have are to use the insecticide to kill the spider guarding what looks like a mining helmet

I thought you'd never ask.

You were right, it's a Miners Hard Hat!
Great! With that torch strapped onto its top, we shall never be shocked by monsters in closets again!
Well, I'll never be afraid of spiders again, that's for certain. Actually, I think I missed one over near the trapdoor... why don't you read out what I need to do next while I go spray some more deadly toxins around?
You becoming quite unnerving sometimes.
It's better than becoming quite broken and crunchy.

...and to put the Vampire Dux feather in the cauldron.

Ah, more fetching! Why is it that I left everything over by the moat? Ah well, off we go.

Mm. The feather's cooking nicely. It smells delicious, rather like roast duck.
Don't get too comfortable there. I'm sending you back into the mines.
Oh! I have a suggestion. Maybe we could use the garlic on the cauldron, then collect some of that bird meat and add that too... You do realise I haven't eaten in days, don't you?
All the more reason to hurry up with your quest.

The only thing I can think of is to maybe use the dry ice to freeze that river just below the section of cave you just opened up, but that seems a bit of a stretch.

I'm not sure I trust this idea. Standing on a rickety platform next to deathly cold water, trying to freeze it further with a can of dry ice?
Come now, just give it a try.

It worked! I've found the Leprechaun's Wig! We're half way there!
Wait. Wait, wait, wait.
What?
There's another lake up ahead. How are we supposed to cross that one?
Does it matter? We have another potion ingredient!
No... I'm certain we'll need to go further into the mountains in the future. I remember the last time I forgot about something in the mountains. It didn't end well.
Something? What did you forget?
It's more a question of who, but that's irrelevant now. Personal life references aside, I'm pretty sure we'll need to rewind. I'll add the explored area to the map... but we'll just have to remember that we can't access the wig yet without becoming stuck.
*Sigh.*

It's over to you guys!

We now have access to:
- Free Acme Bird Seed (For any birds we may come across!)
- A Plastic Raincoat (For any rain we may come across!)
- Can of Insecticide (For any spiders we may come across!)
- Empty Potion Bottle
- Rusty Bolt Cutters
- A Bottle of Dry Ice (To freeze water - good for one use only!)
- A Clove of Garlic
- A Miners Hard Hat

Current backlog for the next update:
- Using the garlic on the bats!

Any suggestions or ideas on how to progress? Do tell!
