I actually debated over whether or not I should translate Hakugyokuro, since it and Eientei are kind of awkwardly sitting around untranslated while all other major Touhou locations got english names (including the japanese as hell Great Mausoleum, so no excuse there). I eventually just flipped a coin, and it landed on heads. So blame George Washington I guess!
Despite being named after a tower, Touhou's Hakugyokuro is just a mansion. I was considering renaming it White Jade Mansion for a bit, but then read on the wiki that the place was a shrine. "Cool," I thought, "that means I can name it White Jade Pagoda, which sounds much more asian." Then Clarste pointed out I probably shouldn't be trusting the wiki so blindly so I went looking around the databooks, and lo and behold it's just described as a mansion. So that left me with the more basic White Jade Tower until Clarste came to the rescue with a thesaurus.
