Part 132: The Epic of Gilgaluf - Chapter 5

Sorry, I seem to have forgotten how to post on time. I blame motivational issues again, for the most part.

The Epic of Gilgaluf - Chapter 5

Okay, so, right outside Istory. Time to hunt Ramuh. (Incidentally, hunting the "random encounter" bosses will be annoying in this run since I've gotta have the weapon equipped going into the fight... well, strictly speaking it isn't a REQUIREMENT, but I still want to do it to smooth things a bit.)

Vs. Ramuh.
Yes, I cheesed him. I'll try not to use !Mix too often in this run, though I'll at least be more prepared to do so than Rock (I got on his player's case for not having ANY Eyedrops).
: Why're you playing around with our medical supplies?
: Mmmm... Tastes like... victory.
: It smells like old socks... wait, does victory taste like old socks?
: It was a figure of speech...

One more elemental summon to add to a command which I may or may not use.

After getting lost again for a while, Gilgaluf finds his way to Lix. I remember just how much mileage I got out of this song in Mozart's run...

As for the equipment shops, I get a Kunai (pretty much just because); nothing else is particularly interesting at the moment, except possibly the throwing stuff, though I may exploit the half-off item shop at some point.

Back to Istory for a bit because I forgot this last time I was in the area.

Next on the "oh yeah, I forgot to pick that up" agenda is Mighty March (and, to a lesser extent, play the piano in the room). Yes, I remembered to park at the edge of the forest.

: News to me. Gotta say, though, the decreased level of masochism's probably an improvement.

Huh. A new shop seems to have opened in Karnak. Hadn't realized that. Anyway, I finally sell off that Whip Magissa dropped way back when; also, I ran into a Harvester while heading back to the Black Chocobo to get off Crescent Isle, so I've also got a Silver Bow to fence.

Time for the moment of truth- Sandworm.

Vs. Sandworm.
Just kidding about the "moment of truth" bit, actually- he's a joke to Blue Mages. (Bonus: Sandworm minus Aqua Breath)
: I have a Frisbee!

You can find your way to the Pyramid in World 1, but it doesn't do any good since you don't have the Sealed Tome. Oddly, the Gargoyles are conspicuously absent.

Well, I'm not likely to use this, but at least the option's THERE this time...

For the few people who don't believe us when we say you can go into the Fire Ship in the airship dock: Here's me inside it there.

Vs. Cray Claw.

: Haven't we fought enough lobsters already?
: Wait, where'd your shield go?
: ...Why am I using a bow?

After surprisingly little getting lost, Gilgaluf and Enkidu get to watch a city uproot itself.
: ...I can't jump THAT high.
: Time to bug Cid, I'd say.

: Kinda surprising it still works, really.
: Especially considering that teleporter underneath it... well, didn't. At least not for long.

Anyway, we get sent off to loot some Adamantite because Plot.

Got the rock, now to deal with the guard.

Vs. Adamantoise.
Turns out Death Claw works on it- who knew? Also, I'm kind of experimenting with commands right now.
: ...This thing's kinda puny... Er, not the turtle.
: Where's the REAL me?

This plus Silence admittedly won't disable Prototypes, but hopefully they'll let me beat one for the bestiary entry.

Well, Silence didn't help any (I forgot that it only applies to YOUR Blue Magic), but Magic Hammer spam disabled it pretty well anyway (I wasn't aware Blaster had an MP cost).

I picked this up from the same one.

And he drops this, too. Think I'll go for more "conventional" farming methods against these guys from now on, though.

Namely, !Control to force it to self-destruct.

I have no idea what I could possibly need this much Dark Matter for, but I'll find out if I ever go back to !Mix.

After an unplanned eleventh Prototype while walking two steps to my airship (I exaggerate not), I head to Crescent to rest, then save here. I'll do Soul Cannon whenever I get back to this.

Current weapon list: Unchanged from previous update.

Next time: Ronka, and possibly the end of World 1!
