Module 11 & 12 Summary

- Ashe leads the party south to Giruvegan, passing first through a barrier of Mist parted by the apparition of Rasler, and second through a gate opened by Belias. The party somehow manages to reach Giruvegan before Cid does, and Balthier begins to plan a trap for him at the entrance, but Ashe is drawn by the vision of Rasler to continue deeper into the ancient city.
- The party discovers a giant crystal within Giruvegan, and, at its base, Ashe is contacted by a number of creatures which resemble Venat, who call themselves the Occuria. The Occuria take credit for the creation of nethicite and granting it to King Raithwall, giving him the Sword of Kings to cut his relics from their source, the Sun-Cryst. Venat has been expelled from the Occuria for teaching Cid how to create nethicite, a challenge to the authority of the Occuria.
- Ashe is offered a similar boon as King Raithwall was, and the Occuria forge a companion blade, the Treaty-Blade, signifying the Occuria's favor. In return, she is ordered to cut new pieces of nethicite from the Sun-Cryst, use them to destroy the Empire and Venat, and then rule Ivalice as the Occuria direct.

Glossary

Occuria - god-like immortal beings responsible for the creation of deifacted nethicite. The Occuria claim the right to dictate the course of events in Ivalice, occasionally granting power to mortal beings who will carry out their will.
Sun-Cryst - a giant nethicite crystal created by the Occuria. The Sun-Cryst is the original source of all deifacted nethicite, including the relics of Raithwall, and the source of the nethicite's power as well. New chunks of nethicite can be hewn from it using a sword such as the Sword of Kings, but such a sword can also be used to destroy the Sun-Cryst, rendering its fragments inert.
