Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue

by Epee Em, giver336

Part 72: He's not SlashMan guys, he's BEASTMan. And in BN6 where Beasts are a big deal, cue SlashMan showing up for real in one version. Go figure.

Overview: He is a bad doggy. About the only thing I can say about BeastMan is that he's fast -- even faster than FlashMan. But even that is easily dealt with. Most average players have the problem of getting too jumpy. They don't know where to move in time and end up taking a hit. This ends up being tricky for people. You can very easily shut him down by standing on the middle square. By doing so, you only have to move once in either direction to avoid any particular attack. If you camp in the back column because you are scared, then you will run the risk of having to move twice, meaning you probably have to eat a hit. Even with all this, BeastMan has a mere 900 HP and curb-stomping him is ridiculously easy. His field is slightly different than the norm, so take a look:

C = Cracked Panel
// = Space between red and blue side

Field:

[C][_][C]//[C][_][_]
[_][_][_]//[_][_][_]
[C][_][_]//[_][_][_]

Do NOT crack those panels; let BeastMan do that. Your job is to stay on the middle square like it was your only friend.

Top Tier

: This chip only works when something is in your area. Since that's how BeastMan attacks, then, yeah, this is insanely useful. I'm glad this chip was buffed from Battle Network 2.

: His attacks count as sword element, so using this will knock out 1/3rd of his health.

: If the enemy has high mobility, then this is always a solid pick.

: BeastMan has no way of destroying your obstacles. With this, you are essentially invincible throughout the whole fight.

High-Average Tier

: BeastMan is always up in your face, making these very viable options.

: This one specifically doesn't cause flinching, so it's a good choice.

: Keeps BeastMan in place so he can't attack you! This is a VERY good pick, and I'm kinda mad that I didn't show it off in the video. Not a top tier pick in my opinion, because you simply can't know how his AI will handle being released from the song. His AI may do a sudden strike just after the song finishes, or just keep moving. This unpredictability factor can really throw you off and screw up your S-rank. Keep in mind that when BeastMan performs Wild Rush, this chip won't do a damn thing.

Suck Tier

: While initially it LOOKS very helpful, don't forget that BeastMan's ultimate attack (Wild Rush) can go over holes and still hit you. Unless you have AirShoes, I wouldn't risk this.

: These chips are slow and are hard to use effectively on a mobile boss like BeastMan.

: What's annoying about these chips is that MegaMan has to stand still while the ice wave is firing, thus if you miss, you're a sitting duck while BeastMan just ruins your S-rank.

: For the same reasons as Ice Wave.

Mobile Game Lover Tier

: By the time this goes off, BeastMan will just hop over the explosion and hit you. You would need luck to use this right.

: BeastMan runs all over the place, it would be VERY difficult to capitalize on his displacement.

What did I tell you about throwing chips on fast bosses?

: It's a trap! If you move to use a broken panel for one of these, you just might get caught out of position! BeastMan can land anywhere he wants, and if you aren't paying attention, you could be forced into a spot where you need to move twice to avoid a claw swipe.

: AW YEAH WE GONNA WRECK PPL

: I CAN HAZ LAEZR BEEMZ?

Bad doggy!

It is at this time that I realize that Slasher R is a Chip Trader/BugFrag trader exclusive item. I apologize for this. So, here's something to remedy the issue.

Go to Undernet 4 and grind a bunch of these with your Untraps.

If you have more than 4 of Slasher S, then stuff them into the Chip Trader, thereby turning them into Slasher B's. AntiSword comes in Y (from the trader) and K (from Higsby's). I don't care that the codes don't line up, put it in.

On the plus side, Mine * can be gotten from the postgame areas, so that's great filler and damage if you need it.

CAMP THAT MIDDLE SQUARE!
