Part 12

Four missions are available, two at Panorama and two at Strange City.

This is the easiest mission in the game.

Watch Single Death Shot

I modified our second arsenal for this.

Watch Judge of Anubis

Doctor Reynolds posted:

Judge of Anubis was a lot of fun to play. It was the ultimate scrappy reverse win skill, really. Oh no I'm losing so hard to you oh gosh whateverwillido BLAMMO!! eat like 26 damage, punk. It also completely broke the already completely broken multiplayer game mode "Heavy", where everyone had 40 health instead of 20 and you could never have less than 5 aura. Sheesh that was a stupid type. Real popular with bad players, let me tell ya.

That is pretty much how the mission went.

More junk is available at the shop, but I stopped buying it a while ago.

Okay.

Watch Secret Meeting

Doctor Reynolds posted:

Chunky is a fan of using the legendary Gust defense skill, I see. Only costing 2 and being a course skill, it meant you could be practically immune from projectile attacks. Very popular for a long time, until Manual Aiming was discovered. Shooting a projectile while not looking on to anyone will get past course skills. (Except Reverse, for some reason) While it did not fully dissipate the use of Gust, Manual Aiming certainly took it down a notch. Which was for the best, as Nature already gets sooooo many good skills... it was getting pretty samey out there.

The Mist X skills barely saw any use. They had their use in Aura Cannon arsenals, and that's about it. That said, Aura Cannon was a fun and popular build.

Doctor Reynolds posted:

[M]anual aiming Parabola and Arc skills was pretty wonky. Skills like that were not very popular, to be honest. (With no one at any point in time ever using any Rain skill. Sooo bad) Most I can think of was the classic Tiger's Strength to +2, then Psycho Spear in to a Ground Collapse combo. WHAM! 20 damage in like two seconds. Much easier to pull off in Tag matches than by yourself, of course. That's a lot of aura. Opening up with a Dazzle (against cartwheelers and rollers, anyway. Jumpers can really ruin combos by just getting knocked over) helped a lot with that too, since Dazzle had a pretty long stun and had essentially flawless accuracy.

Manual Aiming was mostly used with the various Blaster skills, Rail Gun (probably one of the most popular skills) and Laser skills. Vibration Laser/Blaster in particular, which were without a doubt the most popular skills. Cheap, lots of damage, reasonably accurate, easy to manual aim. Brutal combo.

I'm not sure why JD was glowing purple at the end of that last mission. He might have gotten stuck in a launch-pad or something. It doesn't matter if you bring an arsenal made entirely of aura particles, or defense skills. The fight with Sammah, Chunky, and JD always happens.

Let's see if we can find JD.

"Environment ... this ... fun. Do more ... research."

Looks like Chunky is back in his usual place. Let's confront him.

"It's not just me--everyone thinks you should leave. Well, step up if you want to erase me."

Gaining Chunky's trust will be difficult.

Starting next chapter, Arthur will assume Kajikawa's position.

"After an intense mission against some strong enemies with Cuff Button, he didn't return. There were reports that he was alive. Above all, we're relieved you returned."

Cuff Button's memory of JD seems pretty shot, though.

"Screw them!"

I guess he means the city below, but everytime we've been in the Atrium, he's been here.

So this is where he's been hiding.

"After all, he's that kind of person."

"... nah, I should stay after you two came to town. ... Anyway, it's lucky for me that the officers have disappeared. Like right now, I'm able to return without being reprimanded."

"Always deep in conversation with Cuff Button. Come to think of it, I haven't seen him around here recently. They were close--they should just get together and pick up their old ways."

Him or you?

I thought there was supposed to be some sort of riot.

Three new missions about environmental effects are available, bringing the total back up to four. First we'll do the one left over from the previous bunch.

JD is one of the best partners to use because he'll actually deal a good amount of damage.

Watch Internal Peace

The Belono will change the environment? I wonder what that could mean.

"game?"

So why is the mission called Melee Place?

Watch Melee Place

"Nanashi, go assist JD in his research of this strange phenomenon."

We've already been doing that, Meister.

Esper CB. Why even bother with the abbrivations when it's obvious who these memory boxes are about?

Watch Old Battlefield

We'll finish chapter 5 next time.
