Part 91: Escaping the Lab
We regain control outside the experiment room. The elevator is now locked, so we have to take the long way around.
Have a map.
1. First things first, we go back to pick up a Loin Guard.
Then we go through the large doors to the north.
We'll be following the path Ouka took in reverse. Unlike her, we have to deal with Hojo's defenses: Steel Soldiers, Beetle Walkers and Flying Drone X. These are all upgrades from the monsters we fought on the Mikasa.
2. This leads to the room where the Apes fought the robot. There's a chest in this corner with an Evasion Down 3.
Stairs to the upper left lead to a walkway that goes along the north and east walls.
At the end of the catwalk, there is another chest with a Thera Root inside.
The exit from here is on the lower level.
There's a Lottery Ticket hidden in this section.
In the next area, we find Karin's new weapon, Dragonsword, in a chest.
3. The next large room we come to is the shooting range. There's another Lottery Ticket hidden here.
There's a Strike Expand hidden in the next section of hallway.
There's also a chest with a Pure Root.
The next section doesn't have anything of interest in it.
The next chest has another Strike Expand.
4. We run through the first shooting gallery.
In the last section, we find the Step Tripler.
5. The exit leads to Kato's lab.
There's a Sp-Attack Down 3 by the bed.
There's an exit from this room to the left.
It leads to a set of stairs leading up. The chest here has a Daphne Fruit. As you can see from the sign on the landing, we're at the level 7 basement. We've got a long climb ahead of us.
There's a Seal of Luck hidden on the 5 landing.
On the 3rd floor, there's a chest with a Fifth Key.
The chest at the top holds a Tent.
From here, a catwalk leads off to the right.
We go through this door and...
We end up back in the lobby. I make sure everyone has a Leonardo's Bear equipped, heal up and head for the exit.
Of course, we don't make it out.
Ugh. What a waste of time.
Just a little further.
Before they can leave, something bursts through the wall.
Jumping Jehosaphat!
Hmm... It feels like something's missing...
There we go.
Hahaha haha ha!! You're not going anywhere!! My Master Cylinder is more than enough to take care of the likes of you!!
Oh, jeez, not again!
I'm using Yuri, Karin, Gepetto and Joachim (Golden Bat) against Master Cylinder.
I do the usual Fusing and buffing.
This actually is a somewhat challenging fight. Hojo is a heavy hitter. He'll use Cannon and Super Rotation to target multiple party members for around 250-300 damage.
He also has an attack called Dissolve which doesn't cause quite as much damage (around 200) but, more importantly, can cause Instant Death.
I keep chipping away at his health and eventually manage to take him out with a four-man Combo.
And that's the last we'll see of Dr. Hojo. I'll miss his little botox'd face and his multiple exclamation points of insanity.
The loot soothes the pain.
