Part 9: Alliance with the Maribel

Update 09

Heat needs Ice, you know. His magic defense sucks, but against Ice? It is worse. He must get ice defense as soon as possible.

With that Mantra, he will get the lowest of the low Ice spells. Bufy. And Void Ice, which is nice.

Missing File: DDS142.jpgWe'll get this as soon as we can — however it might just be gone forever, sorry! If you know where we can find it, please get in contact
Argilla gets a slightly more advanced Fire mantra. It will be useful.

Another level up, because you know, there are a lot of enemies, and even if they are weak, they do add up.

Odd Morsel. Like the Rancid Gravy and the Muscle Drink, provides healing with a tradeoff. It can inflict a random ailment status.

Argilla does focus on Magic. See?

Revival Gems are invaluable, until you get a certain item later on. It's always wise to have a good collection of these.

Since it was a very low level Mantra, Heat learns the two skills fast.

He gets a new one. This is draining the macca stores. That is not good.

Almost immediatelyh after, he levels up. Notice how he is neglecting his magic skill.
That is a no-no in this game. Magic is VERY dangerous, and the magic stat serves as both magic strength and magic DEFENSE.
So, in the end, one of his Dyne level spells can do as much damage as one of Argilla's mid level spells. Or even one of her LOW level spells, while he gets the shit kicked out with a single nonice spell.

He sucks at magic, that's what I want to say.

Oh hey there is someone there.

"She granted us permission to devour you, if possible. This is odd. How was I unable to devour you?"

Oh no! Ambush!

These guys are annoying. They will appear later on as well.

And Fire Boost.
This Mantra buying thing is expensive, you know.

Been favoring Luck lately. Luck is very important, you see.

"Well, to be honest... I'm in danger, now...
So, um... HEELP MEEEE!!"

"This g-g-gate leads back to the entrance.
Jinana's just beyong Gate 4."

Gate five unlocked.

Another one.

Mabufu and Ice Boost.
The Boost skills are passive skills that increase one's power with a certain magic element. There is one thing that is better and that is * Amp. They are cumulative, so if you have a Boost and an Amp together, you can really kick the enemy's ass with that element. Unless they absorb or reflect it, then you are doing it wrong, anyway.

Frost Breath is like Mabufu, but it hits "randomly", and that means it can hit the enemies more than one time, or none if you are unlucky.
It is useful.
Ice Repel is NOT a passive skill. It is a shield skill, and as such it must be casted on battle. It will protect all the party members when used.

He is moving ahead on the Ice tree.

Selling again, to get things before facing Jinana.

By selling Cells, one can increase the Vendor's inventory.

"Cell bonus earned. New items added to the Vendor's inventory.
Spyglass was added to the Vendor's inventory."

Since one Spyglass was acquired, there is no need whatsoever to have Analyze anymore. Argilla gets things that will be useful.

Jinana is behind the door.

Meeting with Jinana and Bat behind the fourth Gate (viddler]
It also has battles! (youtube)

They were waiting behind.

Oh, but Jinana wants this asshole to fight. Yes she does.

yeah, dude, whatever. They got guns.
You got a dinky knife.
THEY ARE THREE ASURAS.

"Come here."

Camazotz. Interestingly enough, this one is from Maya mythology.
Read all about it here.

He rages and then protects himself, making him immune to everything but Earth.
But that's why I set Terazi on Argilla. Oh yes.

He goes down, but the Maribel does not lose one of its two Asuras.
Level ups for everyone!

Alliance. (Viddler)
Bat is a sore loser. (Youtube)

Heat thinks it is time to EAT.

Aww, Serph does not let him eat.

"This is the new law! We must devour those weaker than us!"

"According to our new commandment, your ally is correct."

That is surely Argilla.

She doesn't like to eat.
She must be anorexic.

"Argilla."

The alliance is consumated.

And Bat gets feelings. Nothing more than feelings.
And maybe conjunctivitis as well?

Oh boy.

Aww

Bat is left there. Alone. Sulking.

Anahata. The Fourth Chakra.

The Solids have the strongest stronghold in the Junkyard. The most powerful base.
Also, a very annoying place, to be honest.

But who will get the benefits?
Eh, I guess they'll decide that later. Maybe split 50-50?

"Reason? How the hell should I know!"
He clearly is not Gale.

"The Solids' guard will be concentrated at the entrance."

It is time to infiltrate the base.

That'll be done in the next update.
