Part 9: Alliance with the Maribel

Heat needs Ice, you know. His magic defense sucks, but against Ice? It is worse. He must get ice defense as soon as possible.


With that Mantra, he will get the lowest of the low Ice spells. Bufy. And Void Ice, which is nice.


Argilla gets a slightly more advanced Fire mantra. It will be useful.



Another level up, because you know, there are a lot of enemies, and even if they are weak, they do add up.



Odd Morsel. Like the Rancid Gravy and the Muscle Drink, provides healing with a tradeoff. It can inflict a random ailment status.




Argilla does focus on Magic. See?




Revival Gems are invaluable, until you get a certain item later on. It's always wise to have a good collection of these.





Since it was a very low level Mantra, Heat learns the two skills fast.


He gets a new one. This is draining the macca stores. That is not good.




Almost immediatelyh after, he levels up. Notice how he is neglecting his magic skill.
That is a no-no in this game. Magic is VERY dangerous, and the magic stat serves as both magic strength and magic DEFENSE.
So, in the end, one of his Dyne level spells can do as much damage as one of Argilla's mid level spells. Or even one of her LOW level spells, while he gets the shit kicked out with a single nonice spell.


He sucks at magic, that's what I want to say.

This Mantra buying thing is expensive, you know.




Been favoring Luck lately. Luck is very important, you see.

Mabufu and Ice Boost.
The Boost skills are passive skills that increase one's power with a certain magic element. There is one thing that is better and that is * Amp. They are cumulative, so if you have a Boost and an Amp together, you can really kick the enemy's ass with that element. Unless they absorb or reflect it, then you are doing it wrong, anyway.





Frost Breath is like Mabufu, but it hits "randomly", and that means it can hit the enemies more than one time, or none if you are unlucky.
It is useful.
Ice Repel is NOT a passive skill. It is a shield skill, and as such it must be casted on battle. It will protect all the party members when used.


He is moving ahead on the Ice tree.



Selling again, to get things before facing Jinana.

By selling Cells, one can increase the Vendor's inventory.



"Cell bonus earned. New items added to the Vendor's inventory.
Spyglass was added to the Vendor's inventory."





Since one Spyglass was acquired, there is no need whatsoever to have Analyze anymore. Argilla gets things that will be useful.

The Solids have the strongest stronghold in the Junkyard. The most powerful base.
Also, a very annoying place, to be honest.
