Who's ass are we kicking? (Part 2)

Alright, since there was no update this weekend, we're going to forgo the usual narration from our narrator. Just imagine the voice reciting your grocery list.

Blackhand has seen fit for you to pick up bread, milk, apples, Kool-Aid, and a pomegranate. Fail him, and you will not see breakfast for many moons!

So last time we looked at the human hero, Sir Anduin Lothar. The name goes hand in hand with another hero who we heard mention of previously: Khadgar.

Khadgar at a ripe, young 17. ...bare with me.

Khadgar, as previously mentioned, was Medivh's apprentice. At the age of 17, the Kirin Tor sent him to learn from the master wizard within Karazhan. It wasn't long before the sharp youth discovered Medivh's role as the Guardian of Tirisfal, or much longer to become suspicious of the old wizard's mysterious eccentricities. After meeting with the Horde assassin, Garona, Khadgar learned of Medivh's plan to open the Dark Portal. Unfortunately, his discovery came too late, so the apprentice wizard did the only logical thing he could think of.

He told on Medivh.

That's right, he and Garona totally went to King Llane Wrynn and told him of the treachery afoot. Acting quickly, sorta, King Wrynn sent his best men (away from the front lines, might I add) to assault Karazhan. His men included Khadgar, Garona, and Sir Lothar. There, after fighting their way through the foul denizens of Karazhan, they discovered Medivh psychicly linked to Gul'dan and relaying to him the location of the Tomb of Sargeras.

Battle was reached and the humans proved victorious, as Khadgar ran through his former master. It's also open to debate on whether or not Lothar then decapitated Medivh; I, for one, believe Lothar was badass enough for that. However, the victory came at a cost, as Medivh cursed Khadgar to age rapidly, turning the young adult into a wizened old man.

Well... at least I'm not dead. ...I feel cold.

There's going to be more around this whole Medivh death, as it ties much of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans together (awkwardly). However I'm going to rant right here. If you don't approve of ranting, please move right along and talk about how much you respect me for being non-biased.

THE RANT
Khadgar's aging was the most bizarre and freaky retcon to me. It makes no sense and is frustrating when actually trying to puzzle out what the hell is wrong with the guy. I'm going to show you some images here...

This is Khadgar's portrait from Warcraft II. This is after the events of Warcraft: O&H, clearly. As you can see, he looks like a middle aged man with thin streaks of gray. An unusual wizard, but one that added a little more variety to the cliched units of Warcraft.

This is the first time we see Khadgar in a cinematic, where he looks younger and his hair is now red(brown?). This cinematic takes place at the end of Warcraft II.

Finally, the Khadgar we know in World of Warcraft...

Insta-age. Blizzard really never explained this beyond, "Yup, Khadgar got him with an aging spell when he fought Medivh." Why? Why? So that he could look more like a stereotype!? So confused!
