Part 28: The Final Countdown

The Final Countdown

So a lot of stuff has happened over the course of the game. And when I mean alot of stuff, I mean that the game follows a very linear non-descript progression. It's pretty much a very generic storyline with all the extra little flavor bits added later. These little extra bits are what make the entire process so difficult to navigate. But before we get all sorts of confused in the name of our time-traveling orcish overlords, let's visit our narrator.

Now then, straight to business. So that this isn't a complete rehash like a previous Lore update, this will be a timeline of what has happened in this LP, from start to finish. This is the home stretch folks.

It began with our intrepid hero, Nigel Necksmasher.

Humble beginnings...

Nigel Necksmasher was an average orc living on the war torn planet of Draenor (formerly Orcopolis, formerly Ogreville). Life was good and peaceful, as War Chief Blackhand began his assault on the human planet of Azeroth.

The famous man making great life decisions.

However, Blackhand's initial assault did not go as well as he originally planned, and he needed a patsy to take the fall for him. Someone unknown. Someone stupid. Someone who would willingly agree to be stationed in a swamp.

Shit.

After being "chosen" for the position as new Chieftain, Nigel went to work claiming the human lands as his own. With the help of the grunt Vilefeast and the peon Bloodgut, the orcish warmachine quickly rolled across the countryside.

Partying and panicking. The perfect portrait of the pair.

Nigel dragged his feet with every order handed down to him by War Chief Blackhand; from the mundane farming to the suicidal ogre killing. He was even forced to kill Blackhand's daughter Griselda. Along the way, the orcs met resistance in the form of the human commander Duke Wells.

He looks so cute with his little accessories.

With each success over the human commander, Chieftain Necksmasher took a trophy of battle to remind him of his trials and tribulations.

It also made him look totally bitchin'.

Blackhand, seeing Necksmasher climb the ranks so quickly, began to worry for his life, and sent one of his necrolytes, Darkweaver, to lead him astray and arrange for his death.

Mmm... this fellow is perfectly well adjusted.

However, Necksmasher is not one for plotting, and was merely upset by Darkweaver's attempts. It wasn't until Ogrim Doomhammer decided to begin his own plans of dominance and push the eager chieftain into a battle with Blackhand's forces.

The smartest orc you will ever meet. Ever.

After a clash at Blackhand's stronghold at Black Rock Spire, Doomhammer took control as the new War Chief and Necksmasher got a cape. Pretty good consolation prize. With Doomhammer in control, he began to look deeper into Blackhand's reign, and needed someone with the right information. He sent Necksmasher to go retrieve Blackhand's spy Garona from the caverns beneath Northshire Abbey.

The mother of the fanfics in the flesh.

After her "rescue," Garona began to feed Doomhammer information. Information given to her by the Shadow Council to dispense upon interrogation. With Doomhammer lead astray, Garona began work on her mission, and Necksmasher took command of the orcish forces on Azeroth. Begin the smart orc that he is, Necksmasher began a final push on Stormwind Keep and decided to end this once and for all.

Since this will be the last Lore update, I feel that you guys should get a little teaser for the upcoming Act 12. I'll let the most badass narrator ever take over from here.
