Part 237: Sauro - Turn 72
In which I push the envelope of good behavior in an alliance.
Site searching turns up a blood site in one of my fort provinces. Nothing to get excited about, I just finally got around to noticing that the baseline unrest in one of my well-established provinces was 5 instead of 0 so I had one of my B2 Witch Kings cast the spell "Bowl of Blood". That is the remote site searching spell for blood, and all the sites that raise unrest are blood sites, so...
Sadly it was just a Brigand Lair which we've already seen. Now I can recruit villains, oh boy.
Random events did the following: gave me 150 gold, gave me some water gems, and cursed a few units beseiging Lanka. I also got my last hero! Yay!
I hate to break it to you Skögu, but you are going to be waiting a very long time for your former lover to show up. Maybe you should ask Dawkish where she is. Also, you folks should let me know if there is anything off about this or other large screenshots. I am making this post on a different computer and it's hard for me to judge screenshot sizes.
Mictlan is back in control of Arcoscephale, and now I'm attacking it. I couldn't before because Pangaea had it under siege. Hinnom now has Mictlan's capital completely under his control. A few other provinces changed hands, mostly to the effect of shifting province counts from Pangaea to Hinnom by way of Mictlan. That's... not what I was hoping would happen.
I took Gnome Peaks from a handful of Mictlan PD without incident. I don't expect too much trouble taking Arcoscephale next turn but that may be interesting enough to screenshot. Incy and I have remained on good terms throughout this conflict and he has suggested that Arcoscephale will be minimally defended when my forces arrive. Even if he is lying I don't expect two elemental royals to be too bothered by sea trolls and storm demons. Well, the storm demons might be a slight problem.
So, remember that area that I highlighted in my turn 71 addendum a couplee of posts up? The province with the fort right in the middle of my screenshot is Storn Woods. I wanted it. I didn't really know what was in it but I wanted it. I told builds character that I was going to take it. He told me that he was positioned to take it himself and that he intended to do just that. I informed him that I would see him on the battlefield because that fort was mine.
I don't have logs but we were both talking very big, and I assured him that I would drop absolutely everything I was doing (I didn't explicitly say that I would let TheDemon loose again but I considered it) and focus all of my efforts on wresting that damned fort from Hinnom's grubby mitts. As of the end of the turn I did not know whether I would be fighting Mictlan, Hinnom, or both when my water queens arrive on the scene.
I really wanted to post another turn here but I simply don't have the time.
5. Summon 9 Elemental Royalty or cast each of the 6 Royalty summons at least once (current progress: 6/9 or 3/6)
6. Make my final contribution to the LP (no slacking off!) on or before December 12, 2012. (Estimated odds @ current rate: 54%)
