Part 11: Info - Noble Team

I'd like to take this time to talk about...

quote:

Commander Carter-A259 (Noble One) - A no-nonsense soldier, Carter serves as leader of Noble Team. Carter was born in Durban, Biko on August 27, 2520. He was conscripted into the SPARTAN-III program's Alpha Company in 2531, and, after an unknown amount of time, he became the leader of Noble Team. He has led Noble Team through enough difficult situations to earn the loyalty of his teammates. He and Catherine-B320 are the only survivors of the original team, and share a close bond as a result.

On April 22, 2552, Carter led Noble Team in an operation put together by LCDR Catherine-B320 to destroy a CCS-class battlecruiser maintaining position above a city. The operation was successful, but at the cost of Thom-293. Both Carter and Kat took responsibility over the death of Thom, unable to admit that the death of the Spartan was his own fault. Thom was replaced on Noble Team by SPARTAN-B312 a few months later, prior to the events of Halo: Reach.

quote:

Lieutenant Commander Catherine-B320 (Noble Two) - Carter's second-in-command, Kat serves as the intelligence specialist. Born in Monastir, New Harmony in 2530, she was conscripted as part of Beta Company early on. She would later be taken out of Beta Company by Kurt-051 and Franklin Mendez after Operation: CARTWHEEL, and shortly before Operation: TORPEDO would commence. Some time later she would be assigned to the newly formed Noble Team.

Kat, along with Carter-A259, is one of only two survivors from the original Noble Team. As a result, she shares a close bond with Carter. She is Noble Team's second-in-command, and described as being fiercely loyal to Carter and the rest of the team. On April 22, 2552, Kat put together an operation to destroy a CCS-class battlecruiser maintaining position above a city. The operation was successful, but cost Thom-293 his life, and Kat her right arm, which has since been replaced by a robotic prosthetic. Kat clearly has no problem working with her prosthetic arm, as she moves it just as naturally as her previous biological one, even continuing to hold her M6G pistol in her dominant right hand. Both Carter-A259 and Kat took responsibility for the death of Thom, unable to admit that the death of the Spartan had been his own fault. Thom's place in Noble Team would be filled by SPARTAN-B312 a few months later, prior to the events of Halo: Reach.

quote:

Warrant Officer Jun-A266 (Noble Three) - A thoughtful and taciturn soldier, Jun serves as the sniper of Noble Team. Jun was born on 2524 in Tyumen, New Harmony. Originally conscripted as a part of Alpha Company, he served with Noble Team as Noble Three during the events of Halo: Reach in 2552. Jun is Noble Team's sniper and recon specialist, pointing out targets for the rest of Noble to hit.

He is regarded as "rock solid under pressure" and has shown symptoms of post-traumatic stress in the past. He is a thoughtful and taciturn soldier, but he is also noted as being "chatty", sometimes to the degree his chattiness is considered being against noise discipline protocols. This is, however, often overlooked by his peers in the field due to the informational bent of his chatter. In a psychiatric evaluation on 15/12/2549, he was noted as having "an unhealthy emotional detachment in regards to the consequences of his actions". Colonel Urban Holland, who later evaluated the members of Noble Team, disagreed with this assertion, commenting that Jun is a rationalist, and also a Spartan.

quote:

Warrant Officer Emile-A239 (Noble Four) - A bold and aggressive Spartan, Emile is the assault specialist of the team. Emile was born in Luxor on Eridanus II on March 11, 2523. Orphaned, he was soon conscripted as a part of Alpha Company, but was pulled out of the unit by Kurt-051 and Franklin Mendez before Operation: PROMETHEUS in 2537. Later, he became a member of Noble Team and fought during the events of Halo: Reach.

quote:

Chief Warrant Officer Jorge-052 (Noble Five) - The only SPARTAN-II on the team, Jorge serves as the team's heavy weapons specialist. Jorge was born in Pálháza on Reach on March 5, 2511, and was abducted and conscripted into the SPARTAN-II program by Dr. Catherine Halsey in 2517 when he was six years old. While on Reach, he was trained by the AI Déjà and Chief Petty Officer Mendez along with the rest of the Spartan children. In 2525, he and the other candidates underwent a series of augmentations to improve their overall combat prowess in several different fields. Jorge was among the candidates who survived the procedure.

Jorge was the only member of Noble Team that has seen as much action, if not more, against human militants as Covenant forces. Described as being very difficult to read, he is free with his opinions, vocal in his support of provincial self-rule, and just as vocal in his condemnation of the separatist and insurrectionist movements. He is shown to be empathetic and caring toward civilians; a trait noticeably rare among Spartans. Like all SPARTAN-IIs, Jorge has seen almost thirty years of action and shows no signs of breaking or slowing. In a performance report, he is noted as "inspiring confidence in those around him" and being "rock solid" despite his long military career; this is credited to the fact he is a SPARTAN-II, and is thus considered superior to conventional soldiers in every respect.

quote:

Lieutenant SPARTAN-B312 (Noble Six) - The protagonist of Halo: Reach. A new addition to the team, this Spartan's background is mostly unknown. S/He has no specified role, known only as the team's 'Hyper Lethal Vector.'

SPARTAN-B312 was taken out of Beta Company immediately after training, according to a communiqué from Kurt Ambrose to Franklin Mendez that was sent in May 2545, two months before Operation: TORPEDO. Over the course of B312's career, the Spartan gained a high reputation as an efficient lone-wolf assassin, having single-handedly broken organizations and made entire militia groups disappear. B312 was also a test pilot in a top-secret UNSC project, the Sabre Program, which resulted in the development of the YSS-1000 "Sabre"-class starfighter. B312 used these skills to great effect in a counter-insurgency operation on Mamore on May 10, 2552. At one point, B312's superior allegedly used the Spartan as "his own private grim reaper", and because of this, he was reluctant to have the Spartan assigned to Noble Team. On July 24, 2552, SPARTAN-B312 was assigned to Noble Team as a replacement for its previous sixth member, Thom-293.
