Part 9: Episode 9: Conflict

Episode 9: Conflict

Oh, hello everyone. I’m terribly sorry we didn’t get to this material last time. Now, on Hyperdimension Neptunia…

Feinne’s Notes:
Septent Resort is a bit larger than the Rebeat Resort, and has some slightly tougher normal enemies. It also has a Dolphin. Dolphins are a bit stronger than the Sea Hunter we fought last time around, so be very careful if you decide to want to kill one for the God Eaters quest. You can pretty much loot this place out before heading to the Event, so best to do it now.

We found the monsters we’d been told carried Hematite, but we weren’t the only ones there.

After we take the Hematite from it, we’ll get our mascot clue. Let’s go!
Gotcha! Give it up already and drop that Hematite!
Huh?
Hmm? Agh! N-Nepgear!
Uni, were you looking for Hematite, too?
Y-Yes, but why are you…?
Well, I mean…the other day…that is, it’s weird to just apologize, but you suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and…

I… think we had an argument. I’m not sure, it was pretty dumb.

Kei asked you to do this, right? Why don’t we defeat the monster togeth-
Don’t take control of the conversation like that without my permission! I…actually had something to say.
I just wanted… I-I won’t say it twice, so you better listen carefully and savor it.
Now that we’re a team again, there’s nothing left to fear. I hope the monster gives us Hematite.
I just said not to control the conversation! Jeez.
Ugh, forget it! I won’t let you lay your hands on the Hematite!
What? Why’re you being a bully to me? Are you still upset with me?
Shut up, shut up, shut up! I said you can’t have it, so you can’t have it. I just decided on that rule!
What the goodness! That’s horrible. Then I just made a rule that says you can’t have it, either. So there.
Wh-What? That’s stupid. Are you mad? Hmph. Maybe you do have a spine. Fine, you wanna take it by force?

I got really mad, I’m pretty embarrassed.

Excuse us Mister Monster, could you please give us a few more minutes?
Monster: Grrr.
The hell? Internal strife between CPU Candidates? Such simpletons. Hmph, what better chance could there be?
I’ll cream both of them at once. Any good monster to use for this? Oh yeah, you’ll do.
Hey, c’mon citizens, can’t we just smite evil already?
Let ‘em bitch for a while longer. We don’t need this resentment to steep.
Oh, steep! I’m so sorry, Mister Monster. I always keep a thermos of tea in my purse. Let me pour you a cup…
Monster: Grr-grr.
Go and dominate the hell out of this battlefield!
Monster: Grr? Grrrr!
Whoa, what happened all of a sudden? Was the tea too hot?
Of course that isn’t it, Compa. Nepgear, put that fight on hold. We’ve got to handle this one first.
Huh? What the goodness! They’re really struggling. I-I’m on my way!
H-Hey, wait! I told you to wait so you have to wait!

Still, I wonder why those monsters attacked so suddenly. Do they not like tea?

Boss Battle: Tae Kwon Cat x 3
The Tae Kwon Cats are relatively easy, they don’t hit that hard and aren’t terribly accurate. The main risk here is that they can Paralyze, but as long as you’ve got three people out you probably won’t see your whole party Paralyzed for long. They’re not that hard even while they’re all alive.

Anyway, we found the Hematite.

Okay, we nabbed some Hematite at last. Have you girls calmed down a bit? Hey. I’m talking to you both.
Yes. I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me.

Everything is just peachy, then. Let’s go back and see Miss Jimgrouch… Jinseng...Miss JK.

I guess Uni is still mad at me, though, because she was serious about not wanting us to have it!

Face me, Nepgear. If I win, you’ll leave the Hematite with me.
You’re still going on about that?
I want to face you, one-on-one. Please.
Fine. I’ll do it.
Ge-Ge, what’re you saying?
Let them duel. This is serious. Whose justice is more just!?
Good. Don’t hold anything back. If you go easy on me, I’ll be even more upset than I am now!
You don’t have to tell me that. I don’t intend to lose…ever again!

I don’t like having to fight my friends, but I had to.

Boss Battle: Uni
Uni’s really quite easy, she’s not very accurate and doesn’t hit very hard when she does land a blow. This isn’t really a serious boss fight.

I hope she’s not still angry with me…

There, I win.
Hmph, I went easy on you. I let you win this time, but it won’t happen again!
Ge-Ge, was that really the best choice?
I don’t know, but she…
She’s strong. Stronger than me, even when she’s by herself. But she’s also surrounded by allies.
Compared to her, what am I?

Anyway, Next Time on Hyperdimension Neptunia, Mark 2: Pirachu! A new challenger appears?
