Part 29: A Painful Joke

Chapter 28: A Painful Joke

Last time we powered down the last of the four forts. Our next target is Eisengrad, but there are a few loose ends I'd like to tie up first.

Our travels bring us here: the northern entrance of the Lost City.

We're not supposed to be here yet, but I won't tell anyone if you don't.

One perk about coming here is we can clean out the place a little for when we actually have to explore. But that's not why we're here.

The fights are difficult, but there are only a few of them on the way.

THIS is why we're here. This here is the 41st-50th piece of data for the Bawoo.

Cheeseball IV
Bawoo is fun to say, so I had to pick a name that was just as fun. It goes to Bazuli.

Our journey then takes us south to Brazil. We want to go to that mountain there.

Of course, thanks to the damn rainforest (doesn't look like it needs to be saved to me! ) we're stuck landing miles away from where we want to be.

: I'm picking up tons of powerful energy readings. We can't just ignore this! Come on, let's check it out!

Welcome to Mt. Trial. A nightmare of epic proportions.

Our main attraction is this cave up here.

And we come across this series of red battles. There are four in all. You'll see what they're guarding by the end of all this.

BATTLE ONE: ZOCK K-What the fuck!?

In what universe is this fair!?

Okay, well, just gotta play it cool. Fight it like I fought one of them so many updates ago...

While it's true that double the Zocks means double the Boost Attacks, it's manageable if you fight smart.

And fight smart I did.

One battle down.

BATTLE TWO: XAMEL KAI x2

I really don't like the trend that's building here. I REALLY don't.

We do get a small break, though...

Using Chaff Field still works.

The Xamels' pattern is stuttered so there's almost a constant stream of Boost Attacks. It makes life slightly more difficult.

Eventually, though, I take down one...

Then the other. Two down.

BATTLE THREE: APSALUS KAI x2

This battle was a bit of a nightmare.

Really, the only thing I was able to do to stay in the game was buff our defense and shatter their offense.

It worked as well as it could.

It at least made the battle fair, if nothing else.

After a bit, one goes down.

From there it's not long before we take down the second one.

It's a bit hard to see in this shot, but that chest in the back is our final destination. Just one more battle. And, if the current trend has been any indication...

BATTLE FOUR: BIG ZAM KAI x2

Not cool, Bandai. Not cool.

Sure, Beam Field will block most of their boost attacks...

But it's difficult to tell for sure what boost attack they'll use. The use Earthquake about half the time...

Which obviously isn't intercepted by Beam Field.

Again, the theme of this battle is to fight smart.

And after a bit of smart fighting, one of them falls.

From there we deal with the second Big Zam, which has already had its attack and defense debuffed by the maximum amount.

And that's that. Time to grab our reward.

This actually went well. I beat these battles on my first, second, third, and third try, respectively. On my last run this part made me stop playing for a few days because I lost so many times.

Dirtanium named this. I don't get the reference, either, but I already used Fragtoast.
The Heavyarms goes to Fritz. He has a dismal melee skill anyway, so it's better for him to have this than Bazuli.

Next time: Eisengrad!

AMX-107 Bawoo
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ - Axis Zeon Forces
The Bawoo was a high-performance Mobile Suit designed for high-ranking officers of the Neo Zeon forces. It had the ability to transform into two parts which could be controlled independently by the pilot. The two parts could recombine to assume Mobile Suit form on a moment's notice.

XXXG-01H2 Gundam Heavyarms Kai
New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz - Preventers Forces
Heavyarms Kai is the space worthy version of the Heavyarms Gundam. This incarnation of the Gundam was created when the guy redesigning the Gundams for the movie took a look at the original Heavyarms and thought, "This doesn't have enough guns." What a man.
