Part 46: Entry Forty-One: November 22nd, 2009
Entry Forty-One: November 22nd, 2009
(Continued from the previous entry:)
(Animated version: Farewell)
As Junpei collapsed to the ground, blood streaming from the gaping hole Takaya's revolver had left in his chest, Chidori seemed to snap out of her stupor.
All of a sudden, I whited out. I found myself watching Junpei and Chidori in a hospital room.
Junpei: Chidori...? Huh...? I-I thought I was...
Chidori: I never felt that way before I met you, Junpei...and for the first time in my life, I...I realized what I wanted.
Junpei: I, um, I...I want to be with you, too.
Chidori: But it could never last...I'm different from you.
Junpei: What...?!
Chidori: Knowing that scared me because I never really thought about dying...and it made me realize that I wouldn't be with you anymore.
Junpei: Chidori...
Junpei: Die...huh?!
I snapped back to reality, where Chidori had laid her hands upon Junpei and summoned Medea.[/i]
She glowed with a powerful light...
...and he sat up, his wound closing before our eyes.
Fuuka, however, revealed that this wouldn't be without a price.
Chidori fell over into Junpei's arms, weakened to the point of death by the exertion of healing him.
Junpei: Huh...?
She was fading fast...
...and nothing Junpei could do would stop it.
And just like that, she was gone.
Fuck Strega.
Takaya and Jin were still there, of course...
...but Junpei wasn't about to let Takaya continue to run his mouth. He drew his Evoker and summoned Hermes...
...who immediately evolved into a new, far more powerful form.
Junpei unleashed his fury upon Strega, badly wounding Jin.
The strain was too great, however, and he fell to his knees.
Takaya prepared to fight back...
...but Jin stopped him.
Takaya: Wh-what is the meaning of this?! Release me!
Jin: Don't forget about your mission! This is just a waste of energy!
Takaya returned to his senses; he seemed to agree with Jin. "Something much greater to accomplish?" What the Hell does that mean?
Either way, Jin threw a smoke bomb...
...and when it cleared, they were gone.
Junpei was ready to go after them, but we didn't know where they were or what they were planning...
...so Akihiko stopped him.
Junpei: This is so hard...but...it's not just my life anymore...
This is never going to end, is it? We're just going to keep fighting over this, and people will keep dying one by one until nobody's left.
I'm going to bed.
Coming up in the next entry: Hey, why's that full moon counter still there?
