Robin Hood

Part 11

Sorry I took a bit longer with this one, folks. School and work and blah blah blah LET'S MAKE PEOPLE EXPLODE.

Part 11

Note that even though they don't specify which baron, it's pretty obvious who we're going to run into in a little bit.

This slice of Sherwood is pretty big, and has a few log bridges across a river. Lots of guards with crossbows can make things a bit hectic.

The far western edge of the forest has yet another sword. Just in case you feel like collecting them or something.

Before long, we reach the village.

Even though initially there's no enemies, the spawn rate on the edges of the screen seems exceptionally high in this place. You can also enter every single house on the map.

While almost all the houses are empty, two are not.

One has this sleepy person who apparently didn't notice their village being razed.

- Hello kind sir.

You can buy the key if you want, but it's kind of a waste since we're winning one in a fight soon, and you can't carry more than one at a time. Whatever choice you make, the old sleeper vanishes without a trace.

In another house, we find the Ball and Chain. It weighs about 40 units, and does 25 damage. That's even more than the Locksley Sword!

I decided to take it for a test drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pM7LEq8GyOA

Not pictured: Inept guard exploding into juicy bits.

Level up!

Geez, Robin Hood is fast. His agility is the best of the team, and now he'll move at max speed even with moderate encumbrance.

At the northern edge of town, we abruptly have another melee battle!

As usual, Azeem makes himself semi-useful in holding off one side of the screen while I mop up the rest with arrows. Duncan/Little John on the left makes a questionable defense by turning their back and getting stabbed a few hundred times, but at least it holds off some of the enemies for me to pick off.

Ever get a feeling of deja vu?

Thanks, buddy. Let me know if you need any help with those lacerations and arrows sticking out your back.

After taking down his Aura of Melee Combat, the Baron is waiting for us.

Going the Saturday Morning Villain route, I see.

Heh heh...

Wait, those were his? Boy, we've been screwing this guy over royally. Next he's going to tell us the lake monsters were his pets.

Rematch with the Baron - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZSvw5tK_HQ

The Baron is, despite his hatred, still a laughably easy opponent. He hasn't gotten any stronger, tougher, or smarter since the cathedral.

You can see me toying with him in the video, but I decided to speed things up at the end with the ol' Rape Rock.

Same text if you lose, too. I guess they never expected anybody to get killed by this guy. I had to literally try to make him stab me for about two minutes.

And, with little fanfare, the Baron goes the way of Guy. Sadly, he doesn't have any loot on him, be it ridiculously good weapons or ancestral equipment.

Well, let's head back to camp, where I'm sure Will has another pointless mission for us to-

Eh...?

But he never left my...

You... but... what?

Didn't he have possession of her for several years already? And, wasn't she already in his custody and-

Celts? Why?

How is... why are...

You know what? Fine. The Irish are coming to kill us all. Okay. Awesome. Let's go.

Next time, on Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves:

Everybody has a twin why not!
