Part 259: 1350: Badger Alliance Negotiations








I don't know what that geegaw is, but it's not a treasure that shows up in our treasure list. Also, we didn't lose any goods or cows gifting them.

Anyway, time to bother the gods.




Lhankhor Mhy told us the secrets of his great story, and then we asked him what the greatest threat facing us was. Unfortunately, it wasn't a threat we could directly attack.



So we sent ole' toothless west, in the hopes it would help.



I guess he found trolls out there?




Thus far, I'm not exactly overwhelmed with the iron spike's power.



I can't keep denying the Badgers---like 'em or hate 'em, they're tribemates, and we shoudl treat them as such.



Ortossi's expedition didn't turn out so great.




Your emissary, Korstardos, approaches the Badgers, seeking to negotiate an alliance with them. First, he presents the gifts we sent. They Badgers extravagantly praise our gifts. They toast Korstardos in their feasting hall many times.

Once the gift-giving is over, how does he approach the Badgers for an alliance?

"It would be generous of you to help us in our time of need."

"Together, we can overcome our foes. We will be celebrated by great poets."

"We are both blessed by the gods, and our alliance would please them further."

"You need food, and we need warriors to protect us."

"You will profit greatly from an alliance.


Their chief, Garrath, is known as a miser. We must appeal to his lust for wealth.
