War in the East: Don to the Danube

Part 115: Turn 121-125: October 14 - November 4, 1943

AA and AT guards, great.

The front gets re-organized. Armor comes off the line to refit and rest, infantry digs in and gets artillery in position

Rails are basically as close to the front as they can get, troop density is too high to be able to run rails any further west.

Defences around the city are getting stronger but I don't think it will be enough.

There's still mud but something neat has happened.

New tank corps ToE! No more awful T-70s so I might not lose hundreds of tanks every time I commit my corps to combat!

The Germans have dug in as well as they could during the mud but it doesn't look like it will be enough.

OK so we're now in the winter campaign season. Winter in Europe works a little differently than in the Soviet zones. In the Soviet zones (95% of the map) there's 3 turns of snow followed by 13 turns of blizzard and then 5 more snow turns before having to sit through 2 and a half months of mud. In Europe we get 8 turns of snow, only 4 blizzard turns and then 9 more snow turns before getting 1 month of mud. I'm planning to end this before we get back into mud turns but who knows, the Germans might surprise me.

No overview map since the front hasn't really changed in the last 4 turns.
